I'm not bashing AMD, I very much enjoy their products, but I bet that in at least a year after the launch of Arc graphics, beginning from the laptop models, Intel will do better driver wise than AMD, if AMD doesn't really start to invest more money on testing their drivers. AMD has the best features in their driver suite in my opinion, but it seems Intel will offer the most appreciated features too in their driver suite, which I personally and perhaps the majority uses, like Enhanced Sync for example. I trust that Intel will offer a less bloated and problem free experience in the long term due to their huge resources and experience, since they are not new to graphics solutions. I'm saying here, that I wouldn't be so pessimistic on Intel's capability to deliver good drivers, and given the long term issues of today's Radeon drivers, how much there will be problems with RDNA3 at launch?

I do. Whevenver I use Enhanced Sync, I get garbled graphics in menu transitions (opening the inventory) and sometimes the mentioned balck screen. This is at least in the only game I care to use it which is PUBG.

95% of us are limiting the framerate below refresh rate which essentially makes enhanced sync useless. Its still funny tho but at this point who really cares? If amd fixes it one day we'll have another laugh.

Not like me poor defective RX580 or slow 2600 can get up to 144hz, but at least I noticed FRTC is finally back (using the January driver) and can finally forget about chill. So tested cap at 100fps and working great.

Yeah, I do cap it ingame, but, with enhanced sync, the is way less input lag and guaranteed no screen tearing.

Enhanced sync works best if the framerate goes beyond the monitors refresh rate. Why do you use it if you cap the framerate below the refresh rate ? You don't have a freesync monitor ?

when are they going to fix this damn drivers crashes when switching between displays and you have cold boot driver crash, this bloody driver is unstable as bad as it gets.

Exactly it only works if it goes beyond refresh rate and as we use framecap its just absent. Freesync is another way dealing with tearing and input lag and probably the better one.

Enhanced Sync/mailbox vsync isn't completely useless without VRR, as it doesn't require the application to implement triple buffering/backbuffer queue length of 3 to achieve best possible vsynced present with fps below refresh rate. Anno 1800 or Diablo 2R are real world examples that come to mind. Though Enhanced Sync also has a dumb design philosophy here, as AMD chose that it turns itself off below 45fps.

I never said I cap it with Enhanced sync. When Enhanced Sync actually worked, I left it uncapped. I have to cap it right now, since I can't use Enhanced Sync. And yes, my monitor has FreeSync. Though, sucks as 48-72hz
