Hilbert Hagedoorn:

A changelog for the new version is unfortunately not available.
Well maybe I can help a bit here as I just upgraded: - There are two new gauges, one for "CPU Power" and one for "SOC Power" - Shows the exact number of Watts the CPU consumes, beside the PPT indicator - It is possible now to set the time length of the histogram ( defaults to 60 mins ) - Seems that each core can be overclocked individually to exact frequency (25Mhz granularity), no longer the same value for one CCX I'm not noticing anything else for now.

If you use this to OC the cores, will they permanently run at the new set speed or turbo up to that speed keeping a stock idle.

That is incorrect. It becomes a user-defined "maximum", not a "fixed" value. The CPU downclocks anyway when low usage/idle, as long as the power management minimum setting is at 99% or less. If set to minimum 100%, then yes, it never downclocks... but why would anyone do that?

Ive no idea, i am asking as ive never used it, im sure i read in the 3800x post on G3D that you can have either a permanent all cor clock or a variable (stock) one. Ive not used AMD since my 3700SD back in the day so ive been Intel since C2D.

It works just fine, but I did notice a weird behavior. I had my first 3 cores (best OC'ers that actually hit 4.6-4.625Ghz) at 4.5Ghz while the rest were at 4.4Ghz,. When I was playing some games, I noticed that not only did these 3 cores hit 4.5Ghz, another two did so as well. I ain't complaining as I'm happy with what I see, but with the previous Ryzen Master, if you set the core at 4.4Ghz, it'd never go pass that. Edit - Another thing I'd noticed is that the old Ryzen Master used to have one of my cores spike up even though I was basically surfing the net, and that core would stay at 4Ghz or higher, that behavior is gone now.....and that's a good thing!

Are you sure of this, I can't see it, its the same as always.

Another link: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master Recommended...this version is much better than even the 2.0.xxx versions that came before. Why on Earth there's no official changelog beats me...;) The updated Guide is the closest thing--seems like it's updated regularly. https://www.amd.com/system/files/documents/ryzen-master-quick-reference-guide.pdf Thanks for the info HH--if not for your blurb it would have been some time before I checked it! The older versions' "update" function didn't work, but this one looks like it does--when I dinged it it actually pinged my Win10 and I got a system menu popup letting me know what I already knew, that I had the latest version. Getting better all the time...;)

You mentioned "upgrade"--That was another difference--the old version would either install on top of the present version or else quit altogether with a message to uninstall the current version first--but this version presented a nice big "Upgrade" button--letting me know it knew what it was doing, for a change! Very nice and handy! The first versions of RM were really awkward to use, but finally the software is approaching maximum useability...;)

Yeah, last two new versions have an auto-update feature built in. No need to dig around the internet to get it updated (or upgraded? I'm not a native English speaker, not sure which one is the correct word)

The single thing that bothers me about Ryzen Master is that it won't run if you have SVM turned on and actually use virtualization.

You sure about that? Do you mean during an instance of a VM is up or simply having SVM enabled regardless it prevents you from using it? Because I've always had SVM on, and haven't had issues with Ryzen Master except for one unusual issue.. Which is; IF I drag Master onto my left display (and presumably any other besides the 'main' one), after a few minutes if I go to Master and simply hover over it- it immediately begins to lag, and eventually stops entirely becoming unresponsive and requiring to end in task manager. So I end up having to use WIN + arrow keys to move it back to the main display so as to prevent it from essentially just freezing and losing whatever I've been monitoring on the graphs. Aside from that if I keep it in the main display, then this issue is non-existent.

It's in combination of having SVM on and the Hyper-V features enabled in windows. Windows will leverage that combination to activate Virtualization Based Security, which functionally virtualizes your base Windows install. Of course if you want to actually use Hyper-V or WSL these things need to be turned on as well.
