WTF is wrong with multi-GPU support in games these days?!
2 main factor: -most game are designed for easy portage on and from console or phone device. to reduce the cost. -dev are way less smart than before (and less paid too, wich goes by pair) but the game are lot more complex (despite engine may make it more simple on another hand).

Not going back to 16.3. 16.3.2 gave me my first BSOD in ages. Whatever that was I'm hoping it was just a fluke, and it does not happen with 16.4.1.

Could explain why?

It fixes DX12 issues in Ashes
That's great news! 🙂. I've been having DX12 "stuttering" issues in Ashes for the past few weeks. Hoping its all good now, will try later.

So, they finally acknowledge that "some" games cannot disable Crossfire via Radeon Settings (a.k.a. game profiles). Let's see how long it will take them to fix it now.

Where are you experiencing instability?

Man they are pumping these out quick. I'll wait to see some benchmark results. If they are the same as 16.3.2, I won't bother.

I had to reset my memory timings to defaults, because apparently Corsair memory is literally sold with the exact timings you can put on it. Still, with this driver I got the same scores (and some even a tiny bit better, like the 2nd Firestrike test), as I got with 16.3.2 with the tight RAM timings. This is impressive.

The same performance for me. Seems stable, didin't notice any bugs or crashes.

A small subset of AMD Radeon™ R9 380 users may be experiencing slower than expected fan speeds. A work around is to raise your fan speeds through AMD Overdrive in Radeon™ Settings manually to a desired amount.
I own a Sapphire R9 380 4GB Nitro. How are we supposed to know if we are affected? I did run Speccy on an external monitor and my temperature hovered in the low 60 degrees Celsius while playing Fallout 4 so I would assume my fans are operating normally?

Without any actual facts stated why, this is just pure opinion. Downloading now. So far things have been rock solid since I got my fury x driver wise. Gaming wise has been very pleasent as well.

What triggered your decision?
it's obvious, he read known issues 🤓
I will explain why, here is AMD 2016 Crossfire support: 16.4 drivers: Need For Speed™ may experience poor scaling or flickering in AMD Crossfire™ mode. As a work around users can disable the profile through the Radeon™ Settings game manager. The Division™ may experience flickering in AMD Crossfire™ mode. XCOM2™ users may experience an application crash when using AMD Crossfire™ mode. As a work around please disable AMD Crossfire™ for the games profile in the Radeon™ Settings Gaming tab. 16.3 drivers: League of Legends may experience some graphical corruption on characters death animation in AMD Crossfire™ mode Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 may experience some flickering in AMD Crossfire™ mode The Division may experience flickering in AMD Crossfire™ mode Star Wars Battlefront users may experience flicker in AMD Crossfire™ mode on battle and tutorial loading screens 16.2 Drivers: Cannot enable AMD Crossfire with some dual GPU AMD Radeon HD 59xx and HD 79xx series products Fallout 4 - In game stutter may be experienced if the game is launched with AMD Crossfire enabled 16.1 drivers: [80836]/[59701] Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 - Flickering or poor performance may be experienced when running in AMD Crossfire™ mode [84509] Gaming Evolved client does not initiate when launching Metro Last Light if AMD CrossFire™ is enabled [84591] Mad Max – Low FPS performance may be experienced in game when AMD FreeSync™ and AMD CrossFire™ are enabled [83287] Game stuttering may be experienced when running two AMD Radeon™ R9 295X2 graphics cards in AMD CrossFire™ mode [81915] Assassin's Creed Syndicate – Building textures are missing and game objects stutter if VSync is enabled in Quad AMD Crossfire configurations OG CRIMSON Drivers: [[58978] Dirt Rally - A crash may be experienced starting a new race with AMD Crossfire™ and AMD Freesync™ enabled [80836] Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 - Flickering or poor performance may be experienced when running in AMD Crossfire™ mode [81777] Launching a game from the Game Manager may launch on a single display after enabling and disabling AMD Crossfire™ in a 3x1 AMD Eyefinity™ setup [82083] Ark Survival Evolved - Poor performance may be experienced when running in AMD Crossfire™ mode Not to mention the stuff they never fix or mention, or completely disable crossfire in.
Well, other posters explained already. But to elaborate, the division, the devs promised great multi gpu support, there is none ( apart from sli, thanks massive) Amd supposedly had a profile ready a month before the game, now the game has been out a month and still no fix and I already am finishing the game, last mission to go. Other time, The witcher 3, I ended up going 120hours in the game and beating it and when I was done with it they got a semi working profile. I wanted to buy fallout 4 but I stopped myself because crossfire issues. Project cars, same story. The last game that I could really enjoy the power of my setup was BF4 but that was so long ago....And my gpu with custom cooling has been just sitting there losing its value. Overall. The last six months, support has been non existent from amd or im just buying wrong games. But the truth is, i just bought wrong gpus. I dont believe in AMD and their mantle/dx12, I used to be very pro mantle, but now I dont care. Dont care about fury x and dont care about polaris. and pro duo is like a joke of the century of a card.

what about driver 16.4.1 (official or not official) for hd5000-hd6000 cards?

Pro duo is VR dev card, and every one of those games you mention are an nvidia sponsored or gimpworks game. And yet you wanna blame AMD and not the devs. Alrighty then. I had 290x xfire till 3 weeks ago. I didnt get rid of them because of issue but because I really wanted a fury X. I have only bought 2 games on launch recently, Need for Speed and Rise of the Tomb Raider. I always usually wait to get a game for at least a month for patches and bugs regardless of single or multi gpu. I may just have been lucky, but I never had any xfire issues. HD 5770 Xfire, HD 7850 2gb xfire, HD 7950 xfire, 290x xfire. I actually had way more issues with GTX 970 sli then I ever did with Crossfire. SLI was a damn disaster on Win 10 launch with my GTX 670s.
