Thank you for making it official. 🙂 I was surprised to go to amd.com and see it there and then NOT find a thread on here about it yet! Anyways, I'm disappointed they didn't point out any enhancements to BF4 performance. I might try these later and let you know if I see any, but if someone beats me to it, please share!

this driver seems to force vsync off on some games* *Pinball fx2 *Remember Me *Sims 3 *The Bureau *Battlefield 4 even with vsync on and fps lock to 60 or 59.9 there's horrible stuttering and vsync seems off because I can notice some tearing *Pretty much all unreal engine 3 games.. more to follow if I find out.. disgrace of a driver, worse of them all

while vsync + frame pacing still don't play nice in bf4, vsync off now equals less tearing with this driver. Pretty happy with that. @Espionage724 - didn't know you played PoE?

any improvment bf4 ? my games stutter a little bit reason low power and clock reduction in games core about 700 default 1100 how to remove this bad option definitely i use radeon pro to force max performance clock in games

People remember to uninstall old beta drivers first! I delete AMD folder from C drive, uninstall (and tick delete from my computer) in device manager, then run AMD Uninstall manager to to uninstall other files and programs such as CCC, HDMI Audio, etc. Then refresh device manager to get "Standard VGA Adapter" installed and reboot, run ccleaner reg cleaner to remove any left overs, now install new drivers. Works every time, and no need for any third party uninstall apps.

I really don't understand how do they test these drivers... 🙂 would stay with them into the lab to see if they sometimes tease us. COD Ghosts Crossfire profile is totally unplayable to me. Win 8.1 Sure, before crashed...now doesn't BUT is it the solution? Ah, ok...a crashfix 😀 Pardon, I'm bending for laughs...just a moment... .... ..OK even the cutscenes lag like crazy...and gameplay indeed stutters a lot just this game, so why? no others... so if something is bugged maybe better if they say "we can't do anything now about this, it's still crap" or don't release a profile at all...

question remains why did you buy that pos of a game. Still, I hope that you're doing something wrong and someone will point you in the right direction so that you can enjoy CoD

yea i use it OC 3.6 ghz i play bf4 33 fps ultra average no aa hear in my country the cost of core i5 value is 10 times of yours mean i5 is a payment of 2 months ^^ and for me i am waiting to change motheboard than fx 8320 about 5 months period

AMD has now updated us with another statement on the specifics of the issue, and that the fix is in place thanks to a new driver. Hello, We've identified that there's variability in fan speeds across AMD R9 290 series boards. This variability in fan speed translates into variability of the cooling capacity of the fan-sink. The flexibility of AMD PowerTune technology enables us to correct this variability in a driver update. This update will normalize the fan RPMs to the correct values. The correct target RPM values are 2200RPM for the AMD Radeon R9 290X "Quiet mode", and 2650RPM for the R9 290. You can verify these in GPU-Z. If you're working on stories relating to R9 290 series products, please use this driver as it will reduce any variability in fan speeds. This driver will be posted publicly tonight. *Update - The driver is now available - Catalyst 13.11 Beta 9.2

Most of the problem lies with the game itself. Theres practically nothing AMD can do to help us here. It's just a really really bad port. All we can do is wait a couple months til they figure it out.

I'm sure AMD's uninstall manager is good enough.
