Tested VRS Tier 2 Variable-Rate Shading. Unlike the first VRS test, this one does not really show any noticeable difference in image quality, while bringing 70% more fps.

Zooming in, it's possible to distinguish them (barely), but out of the box... 70% more performance is awesome!

I haven't ran 3dMark in forever, I'll try it out.

Is VRS tier1/2 supported on pascal like RTX is?

The VRS feature can make resolutions between 4k and 8k playable because the performance gain increases with higher resolution when VRS is enabled. 2160p Tier 2 VRS 131.34 fps +72.2% 4320p Tier 2 VRS 50.45 fps +121.2% 2880p and slightly above should be ok. My Ryzen 3900X stays at 4.35GHz and frequently boosts to 4.6GHz with these two VRS tests. Still waiting for the 3950x, maybe frequent 4.7GHz boost clock on the same tests.

It says right in the article: Tier 1 VRS is supported by NVIDIA Turing-based GPUs and Intel Ice Lake CPUs* Tier 2 VRS is currently only available on NVIDIA Turing-based GPUs. Making this feature pretty much useless to anyone that didn't buy the latest and greatest and most expensive from NGREEDIA. *Which nobody has.

Undying:

You really need an cpu upgrade.
Oh yeah, I plan on getting a Ryzen 5 3600, DDR4, and MSI Pro mainboard soon.

Are you sure that for example GTX 1650 is that expensive? 😀

It is once you realize that for that price you could get a mid-tier card not so long ago instead of a low-end one.

This would be very beneficial if it worked for high resolution VR headsets in order to speed up frame-rates.

Is it just me, or is somebody else struggling with calling them UL these days? I miss the Futuremark name and logo. 🙁
