Your ISP is making a killing from you. Why would they spend money trying to help you? Would you stop being so totally selfish and think of their quarterly profits? They might go down a little.

It's good to know you can cram so much data in these cables. It's honestly rather impressive considering it's basically just a single wire carrying data. I've been planning to build a steel garage, which obviously isn't going to let wifi through very well, and thought it would make more sense for me to feed coax in there since it's cheaper and works better at longer distances.

The cost for those new equipments is high and some old cable (the ones in use) may need changing !! To me this tech needs to be replace by fiber, but either way providers need to pay money !

The (copper) cable part is usually just a few meters to tens of meters. It only goes from the house to their fiber optic exchange cabinet, which is either above or in the ground at lots of street corners. The only reason such "high speeds" are possible is because the copper wire is very very short. They might as well drag Ethernet into people's homes, and offer (near) symmetrical bandwidth without this stupid digital to analog to digital conversion. Guess what RCS/RDS (Digi) did in Romania, many, many years ago ? And now the world is jealous on our ultra-cheap blazing fast internet.

I thought most cable companies didnt want update to 3.1 do to cost and wanted to do fiber to the premises or what ever it called... I have 500mbit down but 20mbit up which dont work well when one want to remotely watch things like dish tv or remote play
