Wonder how Tri-SLI 980's (or GM200) will run in DX12 without the CPU bottleneck.

Wonder how R9 380X in crossfire X will run in DX12 without the CPU bottleneck:wanker:

I just hope there will be any serious gains in everyday situations. Dual cores for gaming are still around, but I think it's save to say a quad core is the most common gaming CPU. Decent gains there might come around, but we're only heading to the GPU limit again, which still might prove difficult (and some time ahead) to overcome when it comes to very high resolution gaming like 4K dsr plus eye candy.

I'm far more excited about DirectX fulfilling its goals then I ever have been of any news for upcoming GPUs.
I wonder what AMD and Nvidia think about these quotes given that it could possibly hinder sales of new cards. For example those running 7XX series or AMD 2XX series cards may hold off new purchases even longer?

Dear god, please do not recommend to myself or anyone they expose themselves to 'the prequels'.
I need to take a shower now...

I don't know whether to be excited that DirectX 12 is so optimised or shocked/annoyed because DirectX 11 incurred such a high performance overhead that it was over NINE TIMES SLOWER than it needed to have been!
Maybe we should all be suing Microsoft for making us pay out for high end graphics cards due to their crappy DirectX API? :P

lets hope dx12 delivers, best news i have read in a long time, it doesn't matter if the hardware side of things is the dogz nutz if the software it has to use is inefficient, so dx12 advancements is very welcome news.

Looks like I'll be smashing doors down with my Quad TITAN's for quite some time. 6 core/12 logical CPU, 65gb RAM and these cards I should set for some time. I just love reading how the "software" is what is hindering the flow of it all and not mainly hardware implementation.
Even after all of that my cards and two of my three PSU's are warrantied for 10 years......! Like......what is to come in seven and a half years? By then I'm sure something could/will have broken and it would be pretty much a step up from there. Quite possible to have some TITANs laying around for warranty purposes, but would be nice to have the step up with a 1k card.......four of'em!

65GB RAM?
You mean 64GB?

How will DX12 affect CPU scaling? Is it more cores = better performance? Or almost all the work will be done by/through the GPU, making CPU less important?

Unreleased GPU? Spidey sense is telling me I'm gonna need an upgrade.

ItΒ΄s always the same every time you guys get excited let your self believe all the propaganda they make hope you buy there products but we all know before DX12 is implemented fully into games where looking two generations ahead AMD 590X 12gb before even have DX12 avaible in games.
So why you all so excited about?

DX12 working across desktop, xbox one, tablet and phone will mean we see infinitely faster adoption compared to the likes of DX10/11.
The first year of free upgrades to 10 from 7 and 8 won't hurt, either.
