would of preferred D2 tbh but hey I will take this.
D3 is totally dead atm, its so boring now. The seasons are boring and just a total grind fest. Why would I want to start all over again every three months so all my hard work I did for the past three months is now just moved over to normal mode where I will never ever use it.
D3 needs a new expansion and a big one, or a big overhaul. Or better still a completely new game.
Just remake D2 in D3 graphics and LEAVE IT HOW IT WAS!!!

maybe someone will make patch so it can be played anytime
i believe the data is on the client not server side
so its all about "portal" that get flagged on specific timing so player can jump to it
if someone can patch make the patch always available
then people can play anytime... sound simple but if there "always online status check" it going to be hard
but again it depends on the community, people will try harder if there big demands, not so much if only handful player want it

Played it last night... big dissapointment for me.
Dungeons are not very well represented, except for the first one (cathedral) but the just took D3 cathedral so there is no Diablo 1 feeling there (they actually did that for all the floors).
8way movement is a plain lie, its 8 animations but movement is free 360ยบ, doesn't feel like D1 at all.
I can se how they want this to be limited in time, this isn't worth staying in the game, they just pixelated the game, made some name changes to monsters and items, added the music and called it a tribute remake.
Tbh, after this being a Blizzcon announcement, I kinda expected much more.

As far as D3 goes, it can die for all i care. The terrible game engine and server lag are killing it for me. Have to run 16 Sound Channels in a group because else the game stutters like mad... come on...

ever gave a try to path of exile ? i never touched diablo 3 i went straight to path of exile is more of a sequel to d2 than d3 ever was :P
now about d1 on d3 .... i love d1 the most ,was my first rpg i had no pc at the time so i was playing on ps1 with a mouse ! ((yes i had a mouse for it ! and red alert ! )) when ever i hear the tristram music from it my hair rises !
ah nostalgia i can never be objective when it strikes me like that ! thinking of it i might have to hijack my brothers account just for this one !
although i remember playing it with a controller ,not the mouse ....i am sure about the red alert retalation though

I came late to the Diablo scene and enjoyed D3 but the money for items thing put me off.
I have played some D2 and all my WoW friends swear it was a brilliant game so i wish they remastered D2 instead.

So.... nobody is going to laugh at the fact that being pixelated, grainy, and harsh 8-directional movement patterns are considered a feature?
Starcraft 2 has a mod similar to this called "Mass Recall" where you can play the Starcraft 1 campaign. Y'know what's great about it? It strives to re-create an already great game but just gives it a modern look and feel.
If I really wanted to play Diablo 1 with Diablo 1 graphics, I'd just install the game as-is.

eh I have diablo and diablo 2, never bother with 3 probably never will. so them remaking it or what ever they want to call it wont get me to by it again.
