I feel really torn when I read this.
On the one hand its nice to see that they're releasing patches so quickly, but at the same time, they've had to already release 3 fricken patches! The games' been out what, a week?
*shakes head*

The two are not connected bigfutus.
The port was done by a totally different company, Nixxes.
Typically they do a great job. But I also suffered from a game breaking crash that prevented me from completing the game. Had to wait 3 days for a patch to allow me to continue.

That's not how it always works. Sometimes it IS the devs fault. And lately, more often then not it is there fault.
Certainly for the first month or so. A new trend that I hate.
The bug I dealt with was the subway crash. I followed the discussion page, a fix was announced, and a patch fixed it. I could finally finish the game. Where does the blame fall on me?

Game goes without patch for 1-3 months - People complain
Game gets multiple patches very quickly - People complain
Moral of the story: People don't care if a game is buggy or not, or if the patches come quickly, or slowly, all people want to do is complain, complain, complain. I'm glad i'm not in a job position where i have to produce something for sale, people have absolutely no idea how to be grateful.

Game goes without patch for 1-3 months - People complain because the game is broken and the dev made a throw-away PC port with zero extended support.
Game gets multiple patches very quickly - People complain because the game is broken and the dev uses paying customers to beta test their $60 game.
Moral of the story: The speed in which patches come out is irrelevant. Don't release buggy games. People have not changed, companies complacency has. Thanks to Internet connected platforms, companies can care less and less, release sooner, make money now, use us as testers, and maybe fix later.
When people in the job position speak up, they almost never speak ill of the people who buy the product and complain. They almost always speak ill of the cavalier attitude of the publisher.
The worse thing we could do as a consumer is become complacent. They already think we are. And by reading some of what I see here, they might be right. When we feel it is necessary to defend a mega corporation...
