I stopped reading when the bad news mentioned $5000. 🙁 That said. It's a step forward and once other manufactures bring out OLED panels, prices will drop. Looking forward to reviews on the product.

I'm looking forward to reviews when it launches and 2 years after. They still haven't solved the burn-in/image retention problems on phones nor in the LG TV's. And I can only think it will be worse on a monitor where there are far more static images.

One day I hope to be able to buy an affordable OLED TV and monitor because I have seen how fantastic in can look on my PS Vita. However, at £5,000 for a 30" display it is just a little out of mine and, I imagine, most other people's price range. For now, it looks like I will have to make do with IPS which, at least, is a noticable improvement over TN panels.

Just to confirm: this 0.1ms response time, it's usually 8+, isn't it?

Agreed. Going from a Hans G 25 inch 1920x1080 TN panel to my new LG 29 inch 2560x1080 IPS panel is quite a jump. Things are crisp and damn games look good on IPS. I will use this till a 34 21:9 inch OLED panel is under $1000 lol. Maybe in 5 years.

The day we get 32" 144hz 4K oled monitors I'm selling my soul to the devil.

I wonder what the input lag on that thing is. I'm just waiting for the day OLEDs become affordable. I wonder how many more years?

So in under 10 years?

They will probably become affordable within the next 2-3 years in terms of monitors. But they still have major drawbacks they need to fix and prove they fixed before I'll buy one.

Good to see oled monitors showing up, The specs are pretty amazing, Id love to get one but 5k price tag isn't worth it with the current issues with oled. I was torn when buying a new TV, between the LG oled and the Samsung SUHD tvs that came out last year. But in the end I went for the Samsung, just because of the input lag and lifespain/burn in issues with oled's but boy are the colors amazing even if they are little oversaturated.

0.1ms is correct for OLED. There is virtually no refresh time for the pixels.

Sounds great, a bit expensive though. The other great thing is that for OLED TV's, static image retention is today a low priority problem, for most users. Early OLED's were suspectable. For monitors though, static image retention prevention is a priority. This must mean that they solved the problem enough to trust it in monitors where still images happen all the time. Does anyone know how they did it or what was involved? Powerball lottery in the USA is 1.3 billion dollars. Will most likely be 1.5 billion by Wednesday when it will be drawn next. Hmmmmm.

NICE me too jajaja

Until they can make the overall manufacturing process for OLED more efficient, it will stay fairly expensive unfortunately. But nice to see that OLED is making its way to monitors for sure.

contrast should be infinite why are they giving it a number? I think I would take this at 1080p@60fps over ANY other non oled monitor any day, if it was 21:9 even better, just to think of my monitor looking as good as my phone is drool inducing I think we're getting real close now, there are 14" laptops with oleds that barely cost 100$ more than an lcd one, with some wishful thinking maybe next year we could have 23" oleds at 300$ or something

When it be ~500€ range for 27-30" 4-5k OLED i will upgrade my CRT 23" DiamondPRO 2070SB (MAX 2048:1536 85Hz) Things get better and better 🤓 Waiting for LG OLED Monitors 😀

I'm sorry guys but I just can't see why this monitor costs 5 grand, even with all the manufacturing, r&d and other costs taken into account. And even tho not exactly apples to apples, why does it cost almost 50% more than some LG 55" OLED 4K TV models?
