Clearly a "not for gaming" monitor. πŸ™‚

Not sure who this is for then because curved monitors are far from ideal for any other type of work.

Couldn't be more wrong. 21:9 curved is amazing for gaming. 3840x1600 is demanding as hell so 60hz is not a bad thing unless a crazy competitive fps player. Prolly could oc to 70hz+ . I downsample 3840x1600 @70hz on my 29 inch 21:9 2560x1080.

And who says it isn't? I have 21:9 myself and its fantastic. However for a price like this, 60hz, no Gsync/ Freesync. No just no. This is not a gaming monitor, this is at best designer / visual artist + on top of that can be used to game.

I just don't understand why these companies don't make decent specs monitors. Why they still promoting 60hz....... curve etc. Hate these curves + low refresh ones

Because adding pixels and curves is cheaper than using backlights that are better than what we had in 2007.

I would take image quality/color accuracy and PPI anytime over hz and response time and I am much more than an average gamer with tons of games into my collection, I despise the wannabe PC master race/gamers who play 3-4 FPS games and they think monitor industry should respect their fake blue blood.

well im playing on a dell u3415w its 3440x1440p at 60 hz and i love it, im no pro gamer, i enjoy my gaming at 60 hertz would i like 100 hertz for sure, but im satisfied with 60 fps

Same here. In fact, I moved from 100-120hz monitors to a 60hz one. Because of need for larger size, higher res. Currently on 3840x1620 (21:9) custom res on a 40" UHD screen and wont go back to the smaller, higher HZ displays.

Refresh rates and response times getting better is an improvement to picture quality πŸ€“.

They wouldn't want to let lowly consumers at serious improvements until they've milked as much as possible out of the pro segments. That's the display industry for you though. Once they had flat CRTs they spent all that time telling us to buy them because curved was bad and now curved is in. The more things change... :infinity:.

Dell is outing a new IPS based monitor, and it is going to be an UltraWide one at a whopping 3840 x 1600 pixels, the model name is the U3818DW. Typically you'd end atΓ‚*3440 x 1440 resolution on a 34&... Dell going UltraWide at 3840 x 1600 with U3818DW
still dont get the fasination with curved monitoers or tv, I seen them and i think there a stupid gimmick like 3D was on the them. Make it and they will buy it, Marketing could and has managed to sell rocks and some great product charge a pretty penny for it

I see it as a gimmick for TVs, but not on UW monitors.

Wish the high refresh rate gsync hdr monitors would release already.

Depends on the size of the display and the viewing distance. At 37.5", this display, with the curve, would be fine for doing actual work at the correct distance.

False dilemma. You can have both. Sounds like you've never tried high refresh rates to be honest. They make everything smoother and better, not only shooters. That's a silly strawman.

NOT comparing with pc monitors but playing ROTR on a 55" UHD TV is a breathtaking experience. And it cost me a bit less than half of that.
