Nice cooler that does not obstruct memory slots , the price is little on the higher side , hopefully the will lower it notch down .

Nice cooler, gives the NH-D15 a run for it's money, and is even quieter than the NH-D15 at stock CPU levels (don't know what happens when comparing the two with overclocked CPU), whilst giving the same cooling performance as the NH-D15. Not sure how much the NH-D15 costs in comparison to this reviewed cooler here, but it would definitely be worth considering it if you're building an air cooled rig.

"Then again, there are many of you that absolutely and irrefutably refuse to have anything with water in their PC" I am one those and I am proud of it haha, This HSF look rather nice similar to D14 and D15 (dual fan) while quiter and less expensive, quite the accomplishment imo Currently using the D14 in dual mode at 1k rpm in my case it the loudest fans are still the case fan that 1k rpm too, gpu when ramps up does get louder then the case fans. but that D14 keep my pc under load at about 63c give or take.

Same here, NH-D14 for me, and also using the low noise adapters to lower the fan rpm to 900rpm here - it's basically silent in my case and whilst gaming in BF1 my 6700K at 4.68Ghz @1.39V it's under 60 degC (is delidded with liquid metal though). The cooler that's reviewed here is definitely a good choice though it seems, worth considering, but I'm gonna keep my NH-D14 and see if it can live with an 8 core CPU (or greater) in my next build, should be alright.

i dont know think when i do my next system I might get something newer that is actual for 8+ cores 4 core with 4 virtual cores not same as 8 actual cores imo

Had a D15S for a while. Iā€™m on an H100i with my new rig because that is what will fit and cool my CPU with the overclock. I miss the quiet and cool D15S though and may change up my case soon to the TU150 from lian-li or a H200 from NZXT. Both will fit the D15S with the cromax covers.

i assuming your current case is mini itx too? i see why you dont have room for d15s šŸ™„

I currently have a Lian-Li PC-05S and it only clears like 75mm coolers, but has room up top for a 240mm rad so I'm running a h100i platinum RGB (tht ML120 fans are nice and move air great but are very noisy when the go over 1500RPM's). The TU150 and H210 both clear up to 170mm CPU coolers.

D15S has only 1 Fan.

D15S has only 1 Fan.
I know, I've had one before. The D15S is offset for memory and PCI slot clearance different than the D15. The extra fan really doesn't any huge improvement to the cooling either.

I dont think really does either but still have the front of my d14 pulling fresh air from front of the case that has 2 fan pull cool air in and the other side of d14 pulling that air threw hs and out the back toward the case fan, which exhausting the air out the case. which isnt that bad seeing 65c under load us highest i seeing it mostly in high 50's, Gpu on the other hand runs toasty under load it about 69C after hour or so at full load it sitting at around 72c. Considering how i have all fan running 1k rpm other then the gpu fans that just auto. I think pretty good seeing how quiet the whole system is, I still check to see if the light is on quite bit see it it on haha. One day i might actual break down try one of the water cooled loops things. but imo the only thing would benefit that stuff at lest for me is the gpu.

But it's not gonna leak.

People worry about this too much. It's a very small percentage of sealed AIO systems that end up leaking. It still sucks, don't get me wrong, but I was more referring to going against other air coolers in the performance range. It's not far off of the price.
