I do hope they'll include high-res textures on the release this time. Crysis 2 looked disappointing before DX11/textures patch.

I smell Port.

Recommended System Operating Requirements for PC: Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM Quad core GPU ...
Quad core GPU ? :P

Technically, graphically and technologically will probably be amazing, just as Crysis 2 was. And still is. But there are far too many more interesting games coming out next year, for me to be excited about Crysis 3.

Funny, they recommended Quad Core CPU for the recommended system, and the examples are all Dual Core CPU's.

So no x64 version? It should really be the standard in 2013. I'm guessing no Directx 11.1 either!... The only reason why some Directx 11.1 features were backported to Windows 7, despite Microsoft's original claims, is that they know there would be zero developer support for it if it were limited to just Windows 8. Even with support on Windows 7, it will be hard pressed to find Directx 11.1 games I think. Interesting in the requirements they list Vista even in the hi-spec category where they also list the HD7970/Gtx 680 and i7-2600K etc. In that sense, it is interesting they list the i7-2600K, and not the i5-2500K. It's also interesting they list the i7-2600K and the AMD FX4150. I realise they are only examples, but one would think the i5-2500K would be a better suit.
Well my GPU fails this list and is admittedly behind but my i5-2500k certainly doesn't fail the list regardless of what they say. The i5 is piss easy to OC, it runs at 3.7GHz Turbo out the box and I'm running it at 4.5GHz. As for the i7 variants I can't imagine any game using hyper-threading on top of the 4 physical cores.

Well there is no doubt it will look amazing but lets hope game will not be boring like the last one...

Will run fine if its like Crysis 2, got that maxed to the hilt with the Maldo mod, and it runs like a dream.

I'm glad to see more games going Direct X 11 as a base, now I'm forced to upgrade and spend money!

With these minimum requirements, the PC version better be far above the console versions...

Crytek are full of it Far Cry: Releases HD patch which supposedly needs AMD64 CPU to run, but it's hacked and runs well on other CPUs as well. Crysis: DX10 features which supposedly do no work with DX9, which was false, a lot of the features worked fine with DX9 Crysis 2: A tessellation patch which adds pretty much nothing, but will surely sell more high-end cards Crysis 3: DX11 only. No doubt that this is because it sells cards for both AMD and Nvidia.

Direct x 10 didn't add much over dx9 anyways, and crytek is now pushing for direct x 11 and they're being judged for it now? Isn't that what most gamers wanted from developers? And now that they are, now it's just seen as. Marketing ploy. Well, if it pushes developers in the right direction I'm all for it. I guess some people will never be happy....

DX10 features which works in DX9? What features? Crysis 2 DX11 patch added a lot of visual upgrades. And what about Crysis 3 and DX11 only? On steam 53 % of users have DX11 cards. About pirates I don't care. http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey So?
They told the public certain DX10 features were only for well DX10 and not DX9. But they were made to work with simply ini changes so that it worked with DX9 cards. It made quite a bit news back then in gaming media at that time. Example: http://www.moddb.com/games/crysis/addons/dx10-effects-with-dx9-for-patched-crysis-11

Nothing anywhere in those specs suggest this would be a port. Nowadays people just throw that word about without actually thinking about it.
Too much ports lately pisses people off...

i dont get it, im running I7 2600k, 8gb 1600mhz RAM, GTX 570 1.2GB sli and windows 7 x64 and crysis 2 with all the gubbins and maldo plus FXAA with 32xCSAA and 2xSparsgrid runs a constant 60 fps for me, this is running @ 1920x1080 how are most of you running so bad? even alpha crysis 3 was smooth for me, take farcry 3, maxed out im getting 50fps altho al move to one are it drops to 20fps then move out of that area its back to 50fps during gunfights so i took MSAA off and everything else maxed and constant over 60fps.

I dont even wanna know what Veteran would have to say about someone with a card under a GTX 570... I personally dont GIVE A F*CK if a game is a port as long as it we pc gamers get it. I mean even if its a little Black OPS 2 is dx11 and even free to play fps are dx11. Just seems like so many now just have so much time to cry and complain or bicker without some form of a proper discussion. I personally look forward to what Crysis 3 will be like. I liked Crysis 2 even without dx11 at first.

Actually i wouldnt have said anything, Dont matter to me neither do i care what card that you or anybody else has as it does nothing for my gaming experience. However go back and read post 57 as i was making a valid point.
I have read it. Thanks for assuming I have done none of the latter, problem with text on a screen is the lack of emotion put into reading text to show sarcasm at any extent. Though maybe I could have mustered up enough wit to possibly portray that in my post. Its all good either way. Just was stating how things have come across and been around the internet forums for the last 3 or 4 years now.

I hope my trusty old socket 775 rig can run this on med with decent framerate. I won't upgrade til Haswell come out.

I smell Port.
Have you played Crysis 2 on consoles!? Its a mess!! I simply can not see why console gamers put up with it. Its frame rate is insane and makes the game unplayable for the most part and has terrible jaggies as its all upscaled and the textures are hideous! (I got it free last month with Playstation Plus subscription and was in shock at how bad it ran and looked!) Even with Crysis 2 vanilla on PC it ran smack bang at 60fps on max settings @ true 1080p and looked pretty nice. Then DX11 patch and hi-res textures came out making the game unplayable for most only those with super high end rigs could play it maxed. I will take slightly less graphical features any day in favor of having 60fps true 1080p or higher any day of the week!

Agreed, PC is much higher res, has better textures, DX11 features on some games and you have way more options. Framerate is much higher and its a joy to play games on, especially with a keyboard and mouse for fps games. There are some games that take a while to get patched to work properly, but thats my only complaint. If you must have everything working perfect from day one, you arent going to be happy with either a console or PC. PC is way better than console imo, which is why I dont own a current gen console. I have played on friends PS3 and XBox360 and I dont envy them 🙂 Games are also cheaper on PC ironically.
