Testing a hot chip with an overclock on a cooler meant for an ITX build? It didn't do to bad really considering it's size...
The testing was done at 4.3GHz@1.13v. With a delidded 8700K+Conductonaut and graphene coating which supposedly improves temps even if slightly. Unless I had a brain fart and read/understood that entirely thread over there wrongly. πŸ˜› Funny note: I have a stock Intel cooler on my 8700K atm running at 4.2GHz@1.16v with 4GHz cache and 4000C18 ram. I will try and replicate his tests. brb Edit: 1-2mins in RB 2.44/2.56, my cpu saw 100c for the first(and last) time. lol

Stay away from this ineffective and curious fan impersonating a cooler. 40CFM? Might as well cool your cpu fanning it with a folded up piece of paper.

Again it's not a cooler for overclocking with, it's only got a TDP rating of 115W barely enough for a stock 8700k, a little overclock will definitely exceed that. It's just a cooler for small builds and additionally, just paying for the name more than anything else.

They switched to all copper heatshink, but the heatsink was not problem at first place with original setup- the FAN, that shitty fan. High pitching noise and no air movement. Utter crap was the original and this one will be no better!

Aimed at solving the space limits of Small Form Factor ITX systems, the C7 Cu was set with the task of further improving performance but without increasing size or fan speed. Utilizing higher thermal conductive materials was the only answer for the C7 Cu. Copper is nearly twice as thermal conductive as aluminum but nearly three times as expensive. That’s why copper is normally only used on the most thermal critical components such as heatpipes and heatsink base plates.
methinks its nowhere that simple because: While due to its better thermal conductivity Copper /gets rid of/soaks/ (works both ways) the heat faster than Aluminum, Aluminum has higher heat capacity meaning that at the same temperature, it can store more heat than the Copper <-- 3x more Basically if you are designing a CPU heatsink and you are constrained with its mass, and you are because it has to fit inside the PC case, the ideal design would proly be something like: a copper contact base, and copper heatpipes to transfer the heat ASAP from the CPU (copper conducts the heat faster than the Al), aluminum heatsink, so that the excess heat which is not dissipated can sit comfortably inside the heatsink, and at lower temp than if it was Copper heatsink (Al can store more than the Cu) and what do you know: Manufacturer: Noctua Model No.: NH-D15 Material: Copper (base and heat-pipes), aluminium (cooling fins), soldered joints & nickel plating https://noctua.at/en/nh-d15/specification

The 8700k as with all K models, does not come with "a stock intel cooler" therefore putting a stock cooler on is pointless. Why you would even bother is beyond me. There's a reason they don't sell them with the stock cooler, lmao Proof in the pudding with your temps, which are 15 beyond that of the Cu C7. Which btw, people seem to not notice, is a very low profile cooler not meant for TDP as high as an 8700. Also to note, again people seem to have selective reading, the tested temps were pretty ok considering his ambient temp compared to his previous tests. Would I buy it? No, I'm happy with my H7. Not a fan of water cooling and don't see the need, but for a low profile cooler it seems to be just fine.

Test results look fine to me. Not sure what you're complaining about. Are you being forced to buy one?

Maybe, just maybe... wait for it.. because I drained my wc loop so I can finally transfer everything to a new case/ongoing project? Just saying... I could be lying tho and just love the stock Intel cooler more than the Cryorig one's.. And since ppl obviously jumping into conclusions as usual, the main point was the price, not the cooler. You can look at it in any way you wish, but if you justify that it's worth $/€50, good for you. P.S: Keep laughing. It's good for the health. Not so much for the @** tho. πŸ™‚

I read that Silver is 15% better than copper, so why not make solid silver version and charge Β£100 for it.

You are mixing temperature with thermal output. Deliding only decrease temperature by faster moving heat from cpu core to cooler, but cooler still needs dissipate same ammount of heat.

tbh, i modded the c7 with a gentle typhoon with tin snips and a square of sheet metal. it kicked ass in one of those Silverstone Milo-style cases. ass = a cramped space with convenient air intakes. fuggitabouddit in most other super sff cases.
