Surely the problem is shadowing, in static images it's a great technique but in a game with moving objects the shadowing is hugely important.

I always use this Technic for the engine on the cars i model, of course with a low poly count (i use it because i'm very lazy). the result on this demo is simply amazing, i'm just thinking on the pain of create such a complex texture. What a beautiful job.

I agree that shadowing is very important but hopefully their engine can provide dynamic shadowing based on the image provided. This looks pretty realistic and would love to see it in a larger environment with buildings as an example.

Vanishing of Ethan Carter used photogrametry, and it looks superb.
