It would be an interesting way to maximize profits, since studios can basically just share assets and not have to really rework them a whole lot. So much of modern movies are CGI; you could really cut back on development time.

I talked about the potential for movies and movie tie-in games to be able to be made concurrently using the same assets many years ago. We are very close to that becoming a reality with the benefit of lowering development costs.
