Forums "Closes Down Permanently", doesn't surprise from the worst customer support ever.

I didn't get any notification from them about my account / password / data being hijacked, talking about common courtesy... ๐Ÿ™ at least they could have sent an email. ๐Ÿ™„

Why would anyone attempt to hack these forums in the first place? That's like robbing a mom and pop convenience store - all you're doing is ruining the day of a handful of people with very little yield.

I loved creative sound boards and I'm still looking for a dedicated soundboard to buy. But this makes me hold the buy longer and longer.

Because they could? There is no reason.

I can't comprehend why anyone would ruin such a thing on a whim. Usually, sites are hacked to gain information. Vandalism is usually because of making a statement, or, at least it doesn't affect anybody's daily activities (like tagging a brick wall). For the most part, a lot of such destructive activities are fast and easy to do. But unless Creative's forums had 0 security measures, it just doesn't make sense to me why anyone would put so much effort into hacking something "just because".

They were probably sick of being told the truth - that their drivers and customer support suck XD

Because many people use the same username and password combination on every site. Compromise one and you could potentially have bank logins or details for many other sites.

I was wondering why I felt a little funny today. You know, just that odd feeling. Turns out it's raining outside.

They were probably hacked because they were an easy targert. i.e., it was 'for the practice' / 'for the experience' of hacking something. i.e., start with something small and easy before trying something bigger and harder. (umm, "that's what she said", not intended.)

I beat anything that it was never hacked and why I'm not surprised by them closes down it permanently as they didn't want to deal with it any more likely why it close it and using hacker as cop out escape goat

They were pretty much the most useless forums in existence. Plus you had to get a mod approval to even post at all and that would take days. Hopefully a few dedicated people create a Reddit and post issues/solutions there because as others have mentioned, their tech support is the absolute worst

.... The strange feeling had absolutely nothing to do with Creative, but was from something completely mundane and boring. .....thus showing how very little this news bothered me.

I correct bad grammar all the time, not to be pedantic but for educational reasons. Some will take it on board, some will take it as an insult. My English has improved as a consequence. On topic, that's 222k peoples info stolen and probably used for other reasons like trying the passwords on email accounts and other more sensitive material. I'm betting at least a few of the 222k got other stuff hacked too because you know what people are like with Usernames and passwords all being the same thing. ^^
