you couldn't have proper headphones power with the previous generation, I doubt switching to USB-C will change that bought a G5, equalization is great but as soon as you raise the headphones volume you get the same thing motherboard soundcards do, lowe frequencies disappear replaced by screeching distorted highs and mids I really wish I could ditch my soundblaster ZXR which is messing with my gpu cooling but not for another "usb powered" headphone amp, ZXR has enough power that I'm the one reducing the volume or basses, how it should be if anyone has a suggestion for an external amp/dac that can make your skull vibrate like the ZXR I'm "all ears" 😉:D equalization etc.. I can do myself using this great open source tool https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/ (I had to use it on threadripper since MSI decided to remove the equalizer from realtek control panel, replacing it by their logo...real useful) you might need this if you're interested https://appuals.com/how-to-fix-equalizer-apo-not-working-on-windows-10/
