Interesting they're bringing back TR, but I kinda feel like we're at a point where it doesn't really make sense anymore. Nowadays, you either need enough threads to keep up with multitasking, you're using an app/game with a finite thread count, or you need as many threads as you can possibly afford. The only part where TR makes sense is that Epyc can be a little overkill in some of its specs. Not everyone needs so many PCIe lanes or memory channels, and I'm sure those dramatically increase the cost of the platform as a whole.

makes sense if you need an Epyc system but cheaper. At least if they give more than 2 memory channels.
