Great work HH. Glad this one has a black PCB. Hope to see Samsung drive down their prices, it's becoming ridiculous. Paid for a 256GB 950Pro in Sept now it's almost 25% more expensive now for the same size.

And here i am still seeing no purpose in those for daily usage.

... coming from someone having HAL9000 as their avatar. I don't care if there's no use for it, the fact itself that computers can get faster is good. Someone WILL find a use for this new storage hyper-speed. Already thinking on Photoshop and Premiere "scratch-disks" feature, but that is more professional. Who knows, consumer software will start using the NVME SSDs as secondary memory, if they become so common that everyone has them. Perhaps new games with procedurally generated "infinite worlds", which would not normally fit into standard memory. I would definitely like after killing some baddie, having some item drop, playing 20 hours more and when coming back to that baddie... to find the stuff still on the floor (instead of vanishing). Hyper-fast big storage certainly has a future !

Considering all of my SATA ports are already in use by 2 SSDs, three HDDs, and one DVDRW, I'm just glad I can at least add one more SSD easily, if needed, by buying one of these NVMe things.

@cryohellinc you mean that YOU dont have any use for it. 🙄 I need a new ssd, and i can get a sata3 limited ssd for $80, or 960 evo M2 for $120. so not sure why i would be interested in the sata port ssd (except for price).

Favors SFFs where space might be a limitation perhaps, less cables to worry about.

or mAtx boards. even that x99 has a few sata3 ports more than my current one, i do like the idea of "space" for another drive, incl better speeds, without having to use another pcix slot (or blocking gpu fans).
