I wonder how much of a footprint this Unified software will have in the back ground.

I am not a huge fan of systems with lots of blinking LED lights, however I do think this is a fantastic idea in theory. Years ago I purchased a product from Mad Catz called AmBx/Cyborg gaming lights. Basically the hardware (two multi-colors LED lights that you could move around) would change color and intensity based on the game or software you were using. In theory it was a fantastic product but the main issue was the software which in this case was not being supported or updated at all. Plus to work properly the software needed to be compatible. I believe that Corsairs and Ubisoft will be able to pull this off and I truly think it will add immersion to playing games (I continue to hope that a working product similar to AmBx will once again become available because when it worked it was awesome)!

Please don't recommend SSE4.2 or whatever it is to run the game. Didn't Resident Evil and another two game ended up adding it to support old user's?

Not sure if i should be happy or terrorized they are releasing new software. CUE was never good, but at least it's not a nightmare any more. I'm scared - at least my mouse and kb have onboard memory, I'll be able to skip using it for a year.. or three utill they get this new one to be decent

When I'm playing via TV I get to use Philips Ambilight. It works awesome and with everything that is on screen. It's 11 years old fullhd 42" model. I still wait for similar effects to come for monitors but thank god TVs at least are covered. Sadly ambilight is just on philips products so other companies need to come up with their own system but shouldn't be too hard. Their page for their v2 ambilight https://www.philips.co.uk/c-m-so/televisions/p/ambilight I also do not like blinking leds but light from behind the screen that just expands the immersion/vision? That I'm all in for. Mine is just two sided as it's so old version and it's not very flashy but still explosions on the screen are just insanely cool. Lush forests and red areas(for example submarines or corridors) are also my favourites in games when playing on TV.

They have stuff like this: https://www.dreamscreentv.com/ - I read works well but it's fairly expensive if you want 4K support. I really hope they work out all the bugs with the unified corsair software. Link has been pretty decent for me lately but CUE is still problematic. It randomly locks up requiring me to restart it. Sometimes when I change profiles it will refuse to change until I restart it. I get DPI scaling issues with it. It's honestly some of the worst peripheral software I've ever used.

I have Philips Hue lights and I use an app in the windows store called hueDynamic and it works amazingly. I even have my pc hooked up to my 4k hdr tv and it still works, it also has the option to use a camera to capture the light source if you'd like. Philips is releasing a major update to their own app later this year that should incorporate all of these things as well as Razer Chroma products now also being able to sync with your hue lights
