*Eyes brand new rig cautiously* I guess I'll have to remember not to chill my PC to -10 then.

Wonder why the normal H100i wasn't recalled when people with Intel realised they had to mod the block with extra washers to get it to fit properly

Lately in the states we have been going through crazy winter stroms. last night it was Tennesse coldest night every in recorded history. Its -3 right now. And I live in the south. Lots of semis and large trucks have been stranded due to the ice storms we had. Dont know how much this effects the whole world these ship too though.

Here in central Europe it is very cold too, hanging around 0C at day. It is probably due to Global Warming masking itself.

This is pretty lame, even though few are affected, it is not that unlikely when for example you open up the windows in the morning to fresh up the air and it's -20 outside and could end up with a leak... ouch.

You mean in the middle of the 3rd coldest month you have temperatures that are hanging around 0C? http://www.weather-and-climate.com/uploads/average-temperature-czech-republic-brno.png Whatever can we do about it :) Short sleeves and t-shirts here through most of the winter, same like the one before. God bless Mediterranean climate

I don't need no liquid cooling, all I have to do is put my gaming PC outside in the cold (8.6 deg. F right now).

This is why Noctua invented the D15.

Hey Hilbert.. do you think you could do a comparison of most of the current closed loop watercooling kits? That would be cool I think..

That must be because water expands at freezing point. but don't they have any additive in the coolant?

Certainly, but I guess it does not contain that much of it, so it basically won't change too much. Also, they said -10ยฐC, for it might not freeze with 0ยฐC right away.

You are forgetting the 99% of manufactured goods come from China, and everything is shipped in huge containers on an open deck, on a slow-boat. I would imagine temperatures in the Pacific can get pretty harsh. :)

No worries, there is no way your room's temperature will drop to -10 degrees Celsius in 10-15 minutes. The cooler is also in a case, so the heat from the CPU also heats up the coolant and the entire system ๐Ÿ™‚

not gonna happen. without being a scientist: even if the pc isnt running [and keeps the cooler "warm"], the cooler isnt really that "cold". you would need to cool down the entire room and leave the window open for a long time, until it actually starts to affect the 110. and then it would need to stay cold for some time to actually get it to freeze. by that time [if you stayed in the room wearing "normal" stuff] a frozen cpu cooler is the least of your problems, since hypothermia would set in. unless you forgot to turn on sarcasm-mode. then, my bad... ๐Ÿ™„

It is a very unlikely scenario indeed, but after I saw what kind of winters there can be in North America... Here we only had -20C temperatures for maybe 2 weeks the whole winter, and even then it was only at night time mostly, I wouldn't let my window open for more than 5 minutes, if that. ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm a little bit worried to be honest since when I played ACU yesterday I heard some "clicking" from the computer (I assumed it was the radiator). Not frequent clicking just a couple of times. LINK stopped working so I couldn't check the temps of the cooler but the temps reported by both HWMon and MSI AB were really good (around 55 degrees). I've been playing a lot of D3 too but since it's not very CPU intensive as ACU no weird noises came from my computer at that time. PS. I got the H110i GT
