I am happy with my nh-d15. I still cant believe how much it costs , how big it is and perform similar with a top air cooler. Is almost triple the price and there are fewer cases that can accommodate this instead of noctua. Also the noise levels and less reliability over time of a AIO over Air cooler is not encouraging

My h115i platinum has served me well for nearly 2yrs without any problems apart from some erratic led behavior now and again but pump wise its still good so i`ll stick with it until some one actually makes improvements temperature wise.

Those triple fans aio needs a serious commitment on large case size. Doubt I'll ever build a computer with such large case.

I've had a lot of AIOs over the years, starting with OG Corsair H50 which was over 10 years ago. Only had one die one me and funny enough it was the most expensive one I've had (H115i), got it replaced as Corsair have a very good custom support, but still a bit annoying and disapointing, since it was just about 2 years old. I went back to air afterwards, when the black Linus edition NH-D15 came out, and honestly I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon from that. It's so hassle free, cools great especially with a case like mine that has good airflow to begin with and best of all it requires pretty much 0 maintenance. With the AIOs if I didn't thoroughly clean them up every 1-2 months, the dust would pile up significantly and noticeably affect performance. But that being said, an AIO will always LOOK a lot better, even if performance gain is minimal, and if you have a lot of bling going with a windowed side-panel, it's probably worth it. Otherwise, air is still the way to go. As for the H170i, I think we've reached a point of diminishing returns when it comes to size/number of fans on these. And while it's nice to run at a lower RPM etc., I don't know if it's worth the price tag.

I bought the 360mm version of this cooler, and I don't know if it was just my unit (although there are lots of complaints about it online), but the pump noise was so annoying, it had a constant whine no matter what it was set to. Replaced it for a phanteks glacier one and its much better.

I had my last AIO for 4 years and I cleaned it out twice, was never much dust on it. I guess you don't use dust filters?

I do, and I de-dust my case regularly. Still there would be a lot of dust between the radiator and fans building up. Something I don't see on my NH-D15, at least not to that extent.

invest in small air compressor and use it once in a while. I did that back when I used AIR cooling. It will make your components happy and dust-free. Vacuum cleaner can't do air compressor's job. Get something with small tank, even 8 Liters is enough and you are done with all the dusting of everything in the case in ~5-10 minutes tops.

I've always used Corsair AIO's but recently gave up with iCUE, back to BIOS PWM basics, quite happy with my 420mm AIO from Arctic and the PWM fan really does wonders as mine run hot.
