Why are we still describing high frequency memory in the MHz? Shouldn't we be calling it 3.4GHz by now?

Not one mention of latency on this thing? CL15? CL16?

It's in the article, unless it was added after your post. 🙂 EDIT:
...Dominator Platinum 3400MHz 16GB (4x4GB, 16-18-18-36) ...
Not too bad for DDR4 from what I know, timings have gotten less tight or how to say with DDR3 and then DDR4 so besides that 36 one these don't look that bad for the speed they deliver. 🙂 (Later DDR4 modules might of course be even better and use less voltage as I think happened with DDR3)

Any idea Which manufactures IC are being used.

What's the best factory timings on a set of DDR3 then compared to when it launched?

The early DDR3 RAM still has pretty good timings compared to newer models though voltage is a lot worse, I gave my sister my previous PC which is still using the OCZ RAM modules I bought years ago, back in 2007 or so, 1800 Mhz at 9-9-9-24 timings if I remember correctly, I might have to look it up (I had it set to 1600 Mhz at 8-8-8-21 I think it was.) but it's certified to operate at 2.00v and the RMA and warranty cover up to a 2.10v overclock compared to the newer models that have similar speeds but only use 1.50v.

16Gb kit 1000$/€ lol  Really bad ripoff for early adopters.

damn, that price.. crazy, I just bought the 2666 kit, and overclocked it to 3200 without any issues, safe a lot of money, would of thought 3400mhz would depend a lot on the CPU being used too..
