I stopped considering streaming anything once my ISP put a monthly data cap on their service for subscribers in my area. I had no problem streaming anything prior to last year's data cap enforcement began, but now I have to consider the added costs. Where is the market for people using streaming devices as service providers begin clamping down on monthly internet usage? Are there really that many people in the world without monthly data caps on their internet usage? Is this data cap just a Comcast/Xfinity thing or what?

We only have one cable internet isp where I live the only other option is dsl. DSL is utter garbage in my area but has no data caps. The cable started putting up caps a few years ago. So I can get 100mb DL and 5mb UL for $80 with a atrocious 300GB cap which my kids would go through in about a week. Or continue to pay $50 for a shit 12mb connection that averages abou 8mb DL and .03UL but with no data cap. Great time to be shafted by ISP. That’s why I keep wondering why all this talk of cord cutters being a thing. I’ve done the math, I would spend more money on my internet and a streaming service than I would if I wanted something like directv for instance. Like way more ****ing money

Comcast currently gives us 1TB/mo. That accommodates a healthy HD TV streaming appetite for 4-5 hours combined/day between 4 people on multiple sets. I've exceeded that limit 4 of the 12 months since they began enforcing the cap. Who knows how long comcast will let that last before cutting the cap to something similar to your limit of 300GB? I moved from a city where the the 25Mbps internet service runs $25/month to a not-quite-rural location where the same service runs $50/month. If I want unlimited (again), Comcast would be glad to charge me an extra $50/month. Otherwise, I pay $10 for every 50GB over the cap. Our only other option is ATT at 5Mbps because that's all ATT offers here.

$25/month => 100Mbps / 15Mbps... DL / UL. No cap. That's lower standard here. In Northern European countries, they get much better connection.

I'd tell you to change your company, but seeing that your only other option is DSL, that's sad. I remember 15-20 years ago when most 1st world countries looked up to the US regarding internet connections, yet nowadays most 1st and 2nd world countries have better connections (better coverage, faster, cheaper and unlimited).
