I remember few years ago the OC 4Ghz is a big number in the community... and now 5-6Ghz without OC. OMG. 😀 Ok i know its not all core but... people, this is big numbers and consumer product.

Here is always my question: how many cores can you turn off so the BEST 1-2 cores boost and hold the MAX speed? Would disabling other cores help?

I remember when Intel was promising 10 GHz with NetBurst. Crazy times. 😀

I had my 2011. sandy bridge 2500k running at 4.7 for the entirety of its lifespan which was 10 years in my possession, sold in working order. Was on 24/7, it only needed readjusting voltage parameters at about year 6. and that was very minor, one bump in bios solved everything, cant remember what the step was for it, 0.05 i guess.

The number sure is big but is not with out overclocking , just pre overclocked out of the box

I remember Turbo buttons that could take my i486DX2 from a mere 33mhz to a blisteringly fast 66mhz of pure speed!

My mind immediately went to the little G3258 that could be overclocked to 5ghz.

Guess my 13700KF is obsolete now with the new 13900KS being released. This is just PC Gaming so my MSI AIO 360mm can cool the CPU. Actual overclocking the 13Th to 6000Mhz does not really make a hugh difference in PC Gaming at high resolution Witch 3 4K Max settings DLSS 3 Frame Generation On DLSS Quality. Left side Power Saver plan.Righ side High with 6000Mhz all core overclock https://forums.guru3d.com/attachments/psvhi-jpg.15663/

amd did that for 3000s with 1us 4.7Ghz peak on 1-2 cores while I and many others were running 5.0GHZ nonstop on our 9900ks so you can't blame Intel for doing the same ryzen 5000 had lower clocks than same gen intel but they held which was new and great, there's a reason why ryzen 5000 are the no1 seller in 2022 ryzen 7000 super high clocks 5700/5500 on all cores nonstop no problem on the intel side and judging from my 13900k all you get trying to get to oc is heat in real life gaming @bobnewels nice overlay first of all 🙂 you made me question using the motherboard "auto-oc" which sure gives me higher numbers in "benchmarks" but it doesn't seem to translate in games checking two obviously limited cpu game benchmarks : 1080p shadow of the tomb raider and borderlands 3 in DX11 be right back and will check right now EDIT : nope no miracle happened lol cpu limited games need all the clock they can have, okay moving on

My first computer was an IBM Clone and it ran at 4Mhz........but it had a red Turbo button on the back that boosted the CPU speed to 8Mhz. I didn't push it for 6 months because I wasn't sure what it was for and was afraid to push it! 🙂

This 13900KS just went on sale today but beware of bad sales practices by newegg as they are charging $30US Dollar's over the real msrp price wish is $700US Dollars making it $730US Dollars. Newegg has been on my black list for a while now , huge greed and bad business practices all the time + scalper's and scammer's on third party seller's.

I'm happy with my 13700KF all core overclocked to 5.6Ghz static on H2O and 32gb of DDR5-7800Mhz ram. It feeds my 4090 nicely.
