it's 2022,everyone can identify as a Taiwanese overclocker if they wish

China prefers the term Chinese Taipei
i call it Taiwan (so do they), the main island is Formosa (but there's more than one island in Taiwan).
in any case i could give a rolling rat fart about a two core overclock. it's neat it was done (at formidable expense)
but the usefulness is zero

Yep, wake me up when you got the whole CPU running at this speed. I would expect a 12900KS to reach 7.5 on 2 cores and LN2.

yeah my lights in the bathroom dimmed during this.

How do you even make it just a 2 core processor? I understand turning off HT but how do you turn off all but the best 2 cores?

It's kind of misleading to call it a record, yes it is a highest OC for that CPU, but let's not forget that multiple AMD FXes did break 8.5 GHz, it has been well over 10 years and the record still holds.

This sort of "record" leaves me cold (pardon the pun). "Yay, wowee, incredible--we froze everything under a blanket of liquid Nitrogen (or whatever these guys used, article doesn't say) and got it to post for 1.765 seconds @ 7.5GHz!" This sort of thing has never turned my head, let alone impressed me. I find the practice--regardless of who makes the CPU--to be stupid, and absolutely worthless. Always have...;)

Only valid OC should count if ALL cores are in play.

Is there actually a faster dual core Intel CPU overclock?

but will it run Crysis?
on a side note a guy over at Tom's hardware claims to have hit 7.8ghz on 8 cores so this isn't even a thing anymore.

Can it play Crysis, the original, at those speeds?
