Here's a game for 2020: Each time Intel adds a "+" to their 14nm tech process, take a shot.

Until we see prices, Intel remains not interesting in my eyes.

Must be a boring game, since they don't do that anymore. Only trolls invent those names at this point.

Will unlock clock speed only on two SKUs. And 5,3Ghz is nothing to sneer at, trouble is that apart from the high clock speed, there aren't many things in Intel's favour as a overall platform. And there is no mention of disable HT, or performance loss by applying the vulnerability patches. TL;DR too little, too late, IMHO. Here is an idea Intel: get your head out of your butt, hire people who can open-source and develop better your Management Engine, add more security layers without performance loss and adjust prices. Yes, there will be an uphill battle, but you spent too much time sleeping on your laurels. But hey, feel free to ignore my opinion.

Not very interesting to begin with but when nVidia finally moves its cards to PCIE 4 (probably around June) Intel will be completely dead on the desktop. No one will want to buy obsolete tech.

ROFL, videocards nowadys don't even manage to completely busy PCIe 3.0 x8 lanes also intel will be completely dead on the desktop, this made my day. But then again you have 16 messages you're probably new to this world.

Let's have a certain tolerance to certain ideas Intel dead on desktop? Well, bring more arguments and see how far can you go.

amazing, i will wait to buy one i see with my own eyes a i9 9900k vs ryzen 3700x (my friends had both) and ryzen 3700x are really weak and i9 is soo stronger but heat like a hell so i choose wait next generation

Totaly agree, i have a X16 bus that can move to X8 (that is standard for most server card), there is zero effect on the GPU, i mean not even 0,01%. PCIe 4.0 will be great (same as the 5.0 that seem more close than i was thinking) of course there will be a lot of card in this standard that might use this, but will you have the computer to fully use this bandwith? and will the program (or game) that you use will fill it to bottleneck (a word to use in gaming post πŸ™‚ )?

I was on Intel and i have get 2 AMD, because i think AMD is better for my use right now... But i don't see Intel dead at all on desktop segment, they still sell more (just less), have more machine already sold that are still online, and they still have preference of the customer in high end segment. It doesn't mean that they are better, it mean that they just have the favor of the customer, it's like Pepsi Vs Coca Cola, even when they had bad time, it is good at the end...

@squalles Pray, can you describe the 3700X weakness? And what makes Intel 9900K "soo strong"?

I mean regarding usage of PCIe bandwidth it's not my opinion, it's just facts, even the fastest card on the planet won't occupy 8 lanes of Gen 3 PCIe. AMD made insane products, as a matter of facts i've been building several PCs to people i know with ryzen, because it's really good and it's much more worth the price compared to intel's CPU as of now, and often they're overall more powerful CPUs, but this has nothing to do with market share or dominance.

My yawnometer just hit the red area. I still hope for good competition tho... We need it for reasonable 4xxx Ryzen prices πŸ˜€

Ye, I compared my 3900x(my home rig) to 9900k(in my office) and with Ryzen the system is way more responsive while using multiple apps. No compare here. I didnt check the 9900k for gaming tbh, but yes the wave of hot air is so much stronger πŸ˜€

Remember, don't benchmark and drive!

Damn,so intel turned out like AMD after all when it comes to overclocking. Manual oc is dying fast.

And with only that you made your decision and opinion. Yeah, nevermind logic, certain benchmark details and specifications. And whole world of rigourously transparent benchmarks. Your feeling, your results are what you perceive. But whatever floats your boat.

Well yeah that's a pretty trustable "source" isn't it?

Another intel news and another intel amd die hard fans clash... I don't see prices yet for both the cpu and platform. It seems to me that Intel is going for the speed here and amd for number of cores, cache size and efficiency. All that I can tell is: There is something for everyone. You are more inclined to a home desktop & database server pc and you need big cache for serving data queries and working multi thread? - Amd got you covered. You want to play games at the top 1.5 more frames than competition - Intel got you covered. So, something for everybody.

They don't do what anymore? Last time I checked they have reused to the bone the same tech process with tweaks and optimizations. Fanboy all you want, fact is a fact.

mainly performance in games, i see almost 20fps of difference its a huge difference to play on 144hz, its like a ryzen running one rtx 2080 with a rtx 2070 performance

And what about people who create content and make whatever minus gaming, your opinion still stands?
