10 cores, now that really is E! With so much potential CPU power available nowadays, isn't it time that some GPU workload starts getting put back on the CPU?

Do your source links ever work?

10 cores with HT still don't offer the degree of parallelisation that 3000+ CUDA cores can give you.

Obviously, but things don't necessarily have to be done in parallel, the questions is whether any of the GPU workload could be done by 6-8 spare Broadwell cores running at 3.7ghz. If there is, I wonder if DX12 might help in that area.

Intel Core i7-6800K need to see TDP price and performance, seeing as i still havent got my 6700k and Mobo, I wonder that price on this along with performance

Might be interesting for the long upgrade path a few years from now. Can't be bothered right now.

more cores are great when they are used , most programs still barely use 4 let alone correctly. hope full that trend of barrely using the cores changes

Even if for bragging rights only, I would love to have those 10 cores...

Nice..Would Like to replace my 5960X with that..Hopefully it is a good Overclocker too..

Applications that really benefit from extra cores usually make the most of them.

True but games do not. This monster will probably not even outperform a 6700k 4-core when it comes to games. So much for that.

It's definitely not for you, if you really think that.

I went from 12 cores down to 6(now my IPC per core is faster however), for what I did on my Mac Pro I do notice a difference. Now I am also not going to drop the big bucks on one of these, because I don't notice that much of a difference! =X

Games no. IPC wins in games.

LOL, I could be tempted 😉 would need to see how well they clock first. Don't really want to sacrifice clock speed, and Broadwell didn't clock to well vs. Haswell if I remember correctly so it will be interesting to see if Broadwell-E is the same.

which are not games,so unless your use apps that do, or as crazy about benchmark programs, it not. IF it can perform on par with 4790k in STP while being 6 core/ht then it would be nice. More core great when they get used, even in this day STP is king, 90% of all software.

Why does everything have to be about gaming? This is a hardware forum, not a gaming forum. Clearly there are products on the market such as Ultrabooks, 8+-core processors, and reference media production displays that are not meant for gaming, no? This is one of them.
