seems like ddr4 is the way to go wonder what a 12400 w. my 4133 c16 sticks would do

I just checked more reviews and it seems it has much worse power efficiency than Zen3, its actually not much better than rocket lake. That is kinda surprising, technically speaking it is not much of a progress.

+30-40% over 5600x at same msrp not good enough ? i knew r5000 owners were gonna be disappointed by 12th gen,and the feeling only grew when it turned out 12600 just wrecks everything in gaming. found it 100-120w with no power limit on 12900k wonder what 12600 will do,under 100w hopefully https://www.computerbase.de/2021-11/intel-core-i9-12900k-i7-12700k-i5-12600k-test/7/#diagramm-package-power-doom-eternal-720p-ultra-und-rt a bit high, but not terrible.especially given the performance.

Performance wise yes. Efficiency wise it still loses to Zen3 , Wich i find surprising how power hungry they are. Depend if you care for wattage or no it can be deal breaker for some.

can't find gaming power consumption anywhere

Same boat. That is kinda most interesting. Post something if you find 🙂 Im surprised by idle power consumption, i believed those small cores would shines yet it's not so good.

@ 720p 😀 pretty sure the differences much less at "real world" resolutions.

No Sir, he did not. The 12600K platform draws that wattage when overclocked.
Uff 🙂 ok, but nevertheless posted pics results are for 12900K.

OK, so for those who want the highest fps for 1080p, this is it. The overall productivity results didn't fully impress me, it was really a mixed bag. However, it'll once again come down to software drivers for me. Intel are usually pretty good with that so I can see a potential hit amongst gamers and those looking for a more stable new-platform's initial offering.

Well i know im defo waiting for 13th gen, hopefully they sort the power consumption and high temps, my 8700k will hold me out for few more years at least, by then even the 14th gen might be better to go for

best product in the lineup, definitely a good value. provided it stays at this price.

Don't think the drivers is relevant anymore when it comes to Intel versus AMD. My 5800x is very stable i'd say one of the most stable computer i've built ever. Did not crash on me once and did not get a single problem with it in 6 month. Also Intel GPU drivers are awful so not all their drivers are good. Those are very good CPU and certainly worth a buy but because of the hardware not software.

it's actually cheaper than 5600x at launch https://geizhals.de/intel-core-i5-12600kf-bx8071512600kf-a2613601.html and 10eur more expensive than 56000x sells for now https://geizhals.de/?fs=5600x&hloc=at&hloc=de&hloc=eu&hloc=pl&hloc=uk same launch msrp, but intel is available.5600x never saw msrp prices in shops until mid-2021
Yep. It is more or less in the same price range with 5600X and it annihilates it. intel did it this time - time for AMD to lower prices for some CPU's.

That IPC score is only given for Golden Cove. Is it possible to give a score to Gracemont as well?

Undying:

This must be the most expensive i5 we have ever seen. 399eur for an i5 is where last gen i7 was. Taking into account that ddr5 is so pricy and decent z690 costs 300euros its an expensive platform.
X570 were not cheap when Zen 2 came out. Decent X570 were priced at over 330 euro. So that Ryzen 5 wasn't cheap either. I got my X570 Aorus Pro back then for around 280 euro with over 60 euro discount only thank to Gigabyte promotions.
