Nice keyboard, thanks for the review. Kinda looks like a DuckyShine3 to me, but I won't complain.
You can purchase and replace/swap key caps. Albeit I doubt people are actually doing that these days ?

Tremendous value. Cherry MX switches alone are about 2 euros per piece! Multiple keystrokes is a real problem, glad to see someone solved it. I'd still like to see palm/wrist rest at the bottom, oh and shiny LCD at the top 😀 Gold plated USB connectors... hmm. This is audio-centric analysis, but still valid: Myth: Gold-plated connectors sound better than connectors made with tin or nickel. Fact: Gold does not tarnish, and tarnished connectors can cause problems, but there is nothing inherent in gold that makes it sound better than a clean connection using standard materials. Further, it is possible for connections using dissimilar metals to oxidize and deteriorate more quickly than if the same metal were used. So, mating a gold plug with a non-gold jack could theoretically make things even worse! Moreover, connectors plated with gold often use a very thin coating because of gold's high cost, and that plating can wear off with repeated plugging and unplugging. Therefore, while it would be unfair and untrue to say that gold connectors are a bad thing, unless both connectors are gold they are at best a waste of money and at worst a potential for eventual trouble. http://ethanwiner.com/myths.html

Mating a gold plug with a non-gold jack won't cause any problems due to the first four words above, gold is almost completely non-reactive! Also it's favoured in audio applications because of its lack of electrical resistance.

that would depend on its fineness, but nvm that. it's softer than quality electrical connector, and it does scratch!

uhh... no measurements say that's a non-issue, and the "myth" above, in my post, is dispelled by an industry professional (40 years or so)

Well obviously he doesn't know wtf he's talking about. And I am not saying gold plated connectors sound better; what I'm talking about is when gold is used as a protective coating compared to other protective coatings; you wouldn't use something like chrome in an audio application for instance which has a higher resistance than gold.

it's not impossible. ask professionals. you need sturdiness over all "The problem I have experienced is that I'm often in a position that I have to use something that has these connectors on it and I will frequently be connecting and disconnecting everything. You can't solve this problem by using gold plated connectors, the problem is that a good signal connection depends upon a good friction fit of the connectors - over time the plug and the jack stop fitting well and you may be forced to replace the jacks that are mounted in the gear. That is an entirely different problem and has nothing to do with using gold as a protective coating. He is saying that gold plating won't help a worn jack socket, and he would be correct.

again... you are not reading what I am writing. The primary function of the gold is to protect the metal underneath it, the low electrical resistance is an added bonus and that is why gold is used over other protective coatings which have higher resistance. Same reason they don't use things like chrome in critical circuits with low currents.

I don't understand what you are getting at. Gold plating does not cause a bad connection due to bad friction, it also doesn't last forever but will provide excellent protection to the underlying metal until such a time that it becomes so worn that the protection is gone. The only reason I replied to this thread in the first place was because you posted a contradictory statement that gold plating is reactive, then you come back with a load of unrelated quotes trying to shoot me down or some such thing. I am done replying here, believe what you want to believe.
