It reminds me of my days with the Zalman CNPS7500

This looks like those shitty coolers that came with the low power Intel cpus, just a shunk of aluminum, maybe it have a cooper core at least? Edit: it have a cooper core, still just a replacement for the stock one on low power models.

Its better because you just paid €100 to replace a better stock cooler and the central "AMD" logo with a "Coolermaster" logo. That adds 30 degrees cooling performance. 🙄

I agree, exept the +30 degrees Because we don't know yet, and AMD cooler are a bit limit for their CPU and run hot already On the bottom photo you can see a lot of similitudes with the entry level cooler provided by AMD... (you know the noisy one provided with athlon G).

IIRC Cooler master are AMDs OEM partner for the stock AMD coolers. I suspect this is essentially a slightly improved cooler for those who's machines came with the lower lend Spire. Note it doesn't look massive so there is likely a market it it's cheap enough.

I just recently built a system with an Athlon 3000G and it's fan is actually rather quiet....

It looks kinda like the Cooler Master i70C and i71C, so it's a 95W cooler, better than the Wraith Stealth and Wraith Loli

lucky one, on the 200 serie it was the same as in the AM3 entry level... noisy, not efficient etc etc... replaced by a passive one: total silent, more cool, and with space for OC, not expensive... AMD should have old stock of those fan, i don't see any reason to use it with the Athlon G.

The worst stock HSF I've ever seen came with my Athlon 5350. It was obnoxiously loud and barely managed to cool the processor. I skipped AM3 as a whole. Never got to experience those coolers. I've never been a fan of stock coolers. The unit packaged with the 3000G is fairly acceptable though. It's in an SFF case and can pull air from outside. Seems to be doing the job quite well so far, with minimal noise. Even ramped up, it's barely noticeable over the PSU fan. If it becomes noisy later, I'll swap it for something from Arctic Cooling just like I did the Athlon 5350.

Alpine AM4 seem nice, i have found a copy of it in full coper that i use right now with a noctua 12cm from the chassis facing it... it's the only fan of the rig 🙂
