Only 8gb of vram on card this powerful/expensive is tragic.

Red gaming tech leaked msrp of 449$. They lost their minds.

Memory Bus 128-bit Memory Bandwidth 288 GB/s This must be an april 1st joke, it's 36% lower than the 3060 Ti CUDA Cores 4352, 10% lower than 3060 Ti Ignoring the price, was there ever in the history of Nvidia or AMD that a new generation with a similar class name is going BACKWARDS vs previous generation ?

3070Ti performance at half its power is very nice, but 8G at 400 is ridiculous, not to mention if this is going to be more. Oh well, my 3060Ti just gained some value before selling ..... @wavetrex you're always counting the number of SMs, but Samsung 8nm to custom tsmc N4 is probably the biggest jump in transistor density for nvidia in recent history. 4080 has 62% more transistors than 3090Ti at 60% its size. Clocks went up by nearly a GHz too. They paid a lot to be able to use it, and in the end it's performance/power what matters. That will be in another league compared to ampere (unlike rdna3 vs rdna2). https://www.computerbase.de/2022-12/amd-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-xt-review-test/5/#abschnitt_energieeffizienz_in_fps_pro_watt 1.7x for ada vs ampere, 1.15x for rdna3 vs rdna2, amd put more CUs cause they had to, not beccause they wanted to. That required a wider bus at the same time too.

9xx vs 7xx was by those metrics. Eg: 980 vs 780 Memory bandwidth was 22% lower Cuda Cores was 11.1% lower For fun TDP was 34% lower Transistor count was 26.5% lower On average it was still 23% faster on launch. uArch changes and chip design are important too.

Hmm... also cheaper. And 33% more memory and 33% higher clocks. But other than that, you're right... let's hope that this time they don't just -barely- match the 3060 Ti...

Ignoring much higher clock rates and L2 cache counts for nothing? It will still be faster than the 3060 Ti.

I look forward to see the price on these horrible castrated xx60ti card. if the card is $300 then maybe it ok but probably be like $499 the bandwith along is worse then 3060, the deal breaker imo

What would be funny is if they put 12GB on the 4060.

You guys shouldn't doubt this card's performance, as it has access to frame doubling, which in Nvidia's eyes makes it superior anyway (and probably, in 75% of the user's use case and perceived usefulness and "performance" of the card).

funny in which way? how expensive it will be? how much more castred it will be or how much lower bandwidth will be compared to 3060? if the price the card at like 300$ it would be fine, but nvidia isnt gona do that

This card is doa if these specs and rumored price, if the price is much more than 300$usd it's not worth it at 400$ its a definite NO

Well, prices here for the 4070 dropped by 50€ only a couple days after release. Apparently "reports" (by NVidia) that these sell like hot cakes are... er, exaggerated? Curious to see what'll happen to the 4060 Ti.

With those specs it should have similar performance to the 3070 at 1080 but probably slower at 1440 due to the low bandwidth Also with only 8GB it won't age well like the 3070/ti
