Disappointing. I wanted to run nine dual slot GPUs.

Ummmmm....yeah.

X1 connections? the bottleneck would be real.... does AMD cards run on x1? i know they do on x4... Nvidia don't go below 8x on their new cards if i remember correctly ( correct me if im wrong) Would mining even work on x1? that is so pretty low bandwidth

Yeah x1 is fine for computations like mining. A -mining we will go A -mining we will go Hi ho the derryo A -mining we will go

The only reason you'd want a board layout like this is if each slot offered more bandwidth, and, so you don't have to build some weird chassis. But since they're all x1 slots, why not just use one of the competing boards that support more slots? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this would fit in any full-tower chassis (to my recollection, full towers can "only" fit 5x dual-slot GPUs). That being said, if you can't fit this in a standard ATX chassis, why not just go for a competing miner's board? I find it interesting how this board seems to be compatible with server PSUs, but the amount of power connectors seems woefully overkill. Cut out half of them and you'd still have way more than you'd ever need. But what I don't understand is if this doesn't use ATX PSUs and won't fit in an ATX case, why not just have a slot to mount a server PSU, rather than this complicated mess? This whole board seems like an utter design failure, and it didn't have to be.

WowO......, so the GFX cards get stuck with a x2 interface off of that crappy/garbage CPU??? Just wondering if I am seeing this shtuff right..... They can not be serious with this many cards and this limitation on PCI-e lanes......

What do you mean by "that garbage CPU"? You do realize you can get good i7s on that socket, right? Anyway, for mining purposes, the specs are perfectly fine. As other have stated over and over, you only need PCIe x1 to do mining, and nobody does CPU mining, so something like a Pentium would likely be sufficient.

A board for mining and they stuck 8 slots on it instead of 7, such a missed opportunity.

That looks hilarious! Oh well i guess there is a market for it.

Dam you will need one Looooong chassis for that Monster!

You don't need a powerful cpu for mining.

Rubbish requires like 16x pci-e 6 pin connectors.

I think it should run with only 8 pci-e 6 pin connectors, I'm not sure why they put so many on there. They are essentially replacing the need for risers, which at $8-12 each (if you buy in bulk) do add up to a decent bit of savings. It also reduces the amount of components to troubleshoot, and since the most likely culprit if you are having issues tends to be those risers that right there makes this worth considering. Provided it does actually work of course. 😛 I saw a similar mobo yesterday that had an integrated mobile CPU with a laptop style heatsink/fan already installed and a 4Gb So-DIMM too, I think they claimed it was only $100 or so for the whole thing, bought direct in China.... I imagine pricing would be allot higher in the US or EU of course.

Time for Doom 8k in Octofire!

what size PSU would be needed to power this with 8 GPUs?

No way in 7 hells you ca fill this up and have just 1 psu for it! 50 for mb/cpu and 8x200 1650 watts but who will run a psu 24/7 at 100%? So i guess 2x1000 watts are the target or 2x1200w

A 2400 watt server PSU would be a good solution if you have 8 high power GPUs. Alternately you might make do with a single 1600 watt PSU if you run 8 low power GPUs.

Meant that the PCI-e lanes on that CPU/Socket are truly abysmal in the sense that there are none......

Just get an ADD2PSU adapter and daisy chain as many PSU's together as you need. I have had two in my build at one point supporting three 1500 watt PSU's.

That honestly is a little worrisome. I mean they are only wired to x1 bandwidth anyway so truth be told should be enough PCIE lanes for that.
