Anyone spending $1300 on a GPU would certainly just get a 4090, right? It's literally $300 difference for a lot more performance. This 4080 card is a piece of crap.

Seems like a bizarre pricing strategy, a bit more gets you a 4090, a bit less gets you a 7900xtx.

Well has been stated that Jenson typically prices thing as he is just about to jump on stage.
Maybe he thought this would fly.
AMD surely scuppered that idea.

How well do we think the 7900xtx performs against the 4080, im assuming equal or beats the 4080 in Raster but falls back on RT?
Maybe NV are aiming for the 'Value RT Card' crown 😀:D:D

They won't change the price until 4080Ti is released. Then it'll get moved to £999 while the Ti will be £1200.
Still far too much for a XX80 card.

As dumb as this card may seem to some. It will sell out immediately.

As others said, only some special kind of people would choose this, at this price, instead of a 4090...

Well, it doesn't help that you can't buy a 4090. So yeah, the 4080 will sell out because it's the only new card that will be available. In the US if you want a 4090 you are paying for a scalped card at $2500.

In the past the maxed out cards where the halo products that where there to mostly sell the lower bins / models now the 4080 and 7900xtx are there to make the 4090 and 7900xtx look like a great deal ... Isn't it obvious?

If they are actually pricing the 4080 like this, then what craziness will we see with the likes of the 4070 and 4060

I hope my Vega64 still survives ...

Colorful dollar bills.

Daily reminder that the "4080 16GB" is a 4070 and it was confirmed that was what nGreedia were going to name it originally.
The galaxy of a difference between the "4080" and the "4090" has a reason.
