Not played for a while but i really enjoyed Skylines, i hope the visuals are better than COH3.

The first Skylines was fantastic, but my OCD made me quit it after a short while, because I sucked at the game, & never really bothered to git gud.

I personally found the first to be really disappointed compared to SimCity 4. It's asinine to release a single-threaded game in 2015, let alone one that is inherently taxing on the CPU. The game required way too many mods to make it actually playable, which of course just hogged more CPU cycles. It also allowed for too many nonsensical loopholes, like how you could just cram 10 schools right next to each other and that would accommodate the entire city. Where the game would really shine is how much more alive the cities felt, the variety, the granularity of detail, the content mods, and other things that would just make life a little bit easier.

Im imagining that matrix UE5 demo but City Skylines. That would look sick.

Cities 1 is not a bad game, TBH it's one of my favourite games of recent years but there are a number of issues with gameplay/generally: it's quite buggy and crashes a lot, so you have to autosave often (5 mins) the savefiles are sizable (10 MB each) the AI is pretty dumb in places some of the mechanics are a bit janky too much, too expensive DLC Let's hope they rectify most of these.

I put so much time in this game years ago. Pre covid. Cities Skyline is not for everyone, it takes a certain type of personality to enjoy it. I'm afraid to even buy and try v2 when it comes out because I put so many hours in. BLEH!: I didn't have problems you described. I usually watch / listen to youtube video in the corner, when I play some type of games. So this stressed my PC a little more, and I don't remember crashing or being buggy. Also, I didn't buy it when it launched. I bought it on a Steam Sale for maybe 20 EUR. But I can see it being expensive if you're buying on day one of every DLC release.

A lot of these games work with constant DLC, Sims being one but as above if you are clever and bide your time then you can pick up some bargains. Also the modding community is huge. Last time i played it i think i was running a 3800x/1080Ti so will be interesting to see how it is on my current rig.

I bought the original game and the first few expansions, then when I noticed they keep coming and they want more and more money... I said "f**k it, not sinking anymore $$$ into this". Never played since. I doubt I'll buy CS2, no matter how great it looks, simply because I expect it to be a DLC money grab hell as well. Offtopic: (Meanwhile, No Man's Sky keeps adding a lot of new content to the game completely for free for the past 7 years)

But you dont have to buy any of it, il have to check and i think i maybe picked up a couple of bits of DLC, in sales for next to nothing but the modding community is where the bargains are. I mean you can pay £5 for a high tech building DLC or go to the Modding hub and check out the 50,000+ building mods
