Great stuff, looking forward to the changes getting applied across the board to all other Chromium-based projects.

I think Chrome could be even snappier, if it would be not so busy collect so much data and invade one's browsing habits. But hey, that's wishful thinking.

No thank you. Firefox forever. Chrome/Chromium is a plague that killed almost all alternatives outside of Firefox and its forks.

Cant help but notice that the 2 pictures of the gpu's IRL got Chinese language in the corners - already at Chinese miners?
Wrong thread buddy.

I'm still happily sticking to Firefox, although I also use Edge for some very specific stuff.

I see 0 speed boost on my i7-11700k 32 GB RAM, and i7 7700K 16GB RAM

Great news, i ditched Opera years ago now as it was getting really bad, Chrome has worked great for me, uses a lot less ram too and thats with a lot of extensions like i had on Opera, and firefox i just dont like it, id rather go back to Opera than use that

Agree, although I still use Vivaldi (after ditching Opera some years ago), I use Firefox in a daily basis due to the lack of other options

Chrome is fast....I like the bookmark bar too. I just noticed a reading list tab in the top-right corner?...new?

Then use Chromium.

De-googled Chromium could show Chrome some tricks, y'all know?

I use a lot of not mainstream browsers for different purposes. And some even other web protocols, Gopher or Gemini. Not everyone and everything is https and JavaScript and images ...plain text still is used to show information, in the fastest way possible without any bloat.

Thanks Chrome, just 2 days that I switched to Edge. We should just end this monopoly before it's too late

I've tried Chrome as a browser a number of times and within days, sometimes hours I've experienced massive issues with the most basic use... actual browsing. In the past I've spent hours and days trying all sorts of updates and plugins to 'fix' issues that shouldn't be issues and every time I've reverted back to FF. While FF isn't perfect by all means, for me, it just works 99% of the time and does what I need and want it to.

While better performance is always welcome I, as one of the earlier adopters of Chrome, would prefer if Google spent some time and effort to not continuously worsen the UI. Still on Chrome on my desktop but I finally got annoyed enough to move to Firefox on my Android phone. It wasn't even the lack of ad-blockers or such, just the inability to stop tab grouping with the newer updates that made browsing unbearable.

what about memory hungry? 🙂

Maybe I'm little bit paranoid but hate google spying on me. Been using Brave browser and it's great.
I tried brave once never looked back 🙂 love it !

I dunno, maybe this latest update of Google Chrome is actually faster, I benchmarked Google Chrome Mozilla Kraken v1.1 benchmark and got 725ms which is faster than a 9900KS CPU when I've only got a 4.65GHz overclocked 6700K! Here's the test result link: https://krakenbenchmark.mozilla.org/kraken-1.1/results.html?{"v": "kraken-1.1", "ai-astar":[74,73,73,71,74,71,73,70,75,73],"audio-beat-detection":[41,41,43,41,41,42,41,41,49,41],"audio-dft":[64,62,65,63,62,62,65,62,62,63],"audio-fft":[28,29,28,28,28,29,29,28,29,29],"audio-oscillator":[38,38,38,38,38,38,38,38,38,38],"imaging-gaussian-blur":[86,86,86,86,85,87,86,86,86,86],"imaging-darkroom":[126,126,126,126,126,126,126,127,132,126],"imaging-desaturate":[37,38,38,37,38,38,38,38,40,38],"json-parse-financial":[19,18,19,20,19,21,21,18,19,19],"json-stringify-tinderbox":[14,14,14,13,14,14,13,14,14,14],"stanford-crypto-aes":[50,49,50,50,50,50,50,51,50,50],"stanford-crypto-ccm":[65,59,60,59,58,60,59,59,60,60],"stanford-crypto-pbkdf2":[64,64,65,65,64,65,67,65,66,65],"stanford-crypto-sha256-iterative":[22,22,25,22,23,22,21,24,22,22]} And here's the pic showing that my 6700K that managed 725ms would place it faster than a 9900KS: https://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=71393 I can't remember how fast my 6700K did this test before the browser update, but regardless I thought I'd mention it.....it's possible I have vague memories of it being around 800 before the update, but don't count that as reliable. Praps some of you folks can do a before & after test on Mozilla Kraken v1.1 in terms of test before latest Chrome Update and then test again after update?
