It's like finally getting a girlfriend but in reality she has been a porn star for 1000 years...... Not sure if that's a good analogy lol.

A bit sad analogy. Also not that funny. But said so, yes there is the risk small investors buy those in medium quantities and clean and put them on ebay at stock prices.

I saw in another forum those are fake listings. It is a bunch of users flooding the market with fake ads to killoff the second hand prices as all of the prices are under RRP/MSRP. Yes, people do get together to fight scalpers. But technically, those GPUs are not really available yet. Buy new fresh box GPU if you need a warranty. If you have a throw away PC, then you can consider used miner GPUs.

Lot of money for a GPU that lasts 6 months.

And still, considering MRSP, it's way more i would pay for an used card. Basically they sell them like new, excluding VAT

They're just stacked like old cardboard boxes, no thank you.

buy new im getting a new one anyway,be it amd or nvidia,as soon as anything drops down to near msrp. i don't like buying late, and i don't think this gen is that great, but i think we gotta learn from that. same thing happened when I wanted a 1080ti.fool me once......

I just checked a popular used stuff website over here. Plenty of videocards for sale. However, the prices are just below the still fully bloated prices in shops. Previous gen cards are also being offered for ridiculous amounts of money. The prices have shown pretty much no signs of dropping here, new or used. The only difference compared to a few months ago is that there's stock for some of the card models.

Without proof of purchase or invoice to deal with RMA I would not give a penny/cent for these cards. They can keep them all.

I hope they choke on their old cards. 300 is too much for what they did to the gamers. Also, the cards are used, and that for practically more hours than they would ever run in a gamer's PC, they aren't even worth that imho.

Might be or might not be, fact is that China started a crackdown and the US has taken it on their board as well. Illegal activities and tax evasion are motivation enough to do something about it. Anyway, who will even buy a used cards from China, let alone a card been used in a 24/7 stress test....

Wahahahaha... that pornstar analogy was epic! Good one, m8!
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/190/190157.jpg
Not a chance! Scalpers are going to be buying them by the hundreds for 300 and dump them as a Great Deal for 600..Still 100% profit. Not going to support scalping, no how, no way. May they choke on them! 😡:)

Yeah and what if she break from all that usage? 😀

Either that porn star is already wasted/broken when one marrys her or she's still in a good shape and gonna last in relaxed 1-on-1 "battle" for years to come. Experience is what one is gonna get, huge plus in my book, don't underestimate experience 😀 On a serious note if story above is true for 100+ quantities of those cards I'm expecting prices should be even lower.

I can't emphasise this enough: miners depend on stupid people to buy the cards from them to get money back. If no one buys the cards for more than residual price (I wouldn't spend more than 100€ for a used 3070 at this point), that limits their business and they are left with the stock of cards they bough and without funds to buy the RTX 4000 or 5000 or whatever is on the market at the next Ponzi scheme. Plus: all the cards have been used 24/7 and have at least 4 to 5 times normal usage on them reducing life expectancy. Are you paying 300€ for a 3060 to burn out after a couple months? Nah, don't be stupid! Some cards may be repairable, and that's why I'd be willing to risk 100€ for a working 3070: if it fails, I'll try my luck with repair.

To hell with their cards. I hope they choke on them

I still have a year left out of my extended 5 year warrenty for my Zotac 1080 mini, so i still have some time to see how the video card market goes, but these days i won't touch the second hand card market anymore.
