Cannot wait to see you do a review boss. Any idea when you might see one of these hit your doorstep?

I hope this is a late April Fools.

I can't wait to see the power usage on this.

Maybe the new CPU will finally be a all round winner.

Holy moly.. TDP = 220w.

I wonder if they pair with a 77w ivy bridge :infinity::infinity:

it's kinda pathetic comparing a 84w cpu (strongest intel cpu 4770k) with 220w fx-9000 and actually be slower with the 2.5x tdp...oh well...amd rocks as usual

uh, so its gonna be 9 core/threads? D:

I'll buy one when the colder weather arrives. Then I won't need a heater in the living room when I power up my Centurion-driven rig.

220 Watts at stock? I'd never touch that even if I wanted to.

That's what happens when your read the market completely wrong. It's not even just AMD who has trouble, Intel completely missed the ultra-mobile revolution as well. The difference is that Intel has enough capital to just literally throw resources at the problem and fix it (Silvermont), AMD doesn't have that luxury.

Whats the TDP of a Ivy bridge or Haswell running at 5GHZ?

LOL. Intel should totally release an i9000X just to be spiteful.

Probably about the same, if not more. My CPU kicks out a lot of heat when OCed, probably about 200W at 4.4 GHz. It is possible to calculate anyway. Someone with a 5 GHz capable IB run it thru this formula: Power = 110 * (Vcore needed for 5GHz/Vcore needed stock)^2.

If the performance was comparable with even an i5 2500K, then I'd be willing to buy it for a good price, but I have my doubts that it will be able to compete with that series, let alone the last and the latest Intel high end CPUs...

A TDP of 220 W for the segment of this cpu is inefficiency itself. DonΒ΄t bullshi! me making me believe otherwise. As others, i would never buy it. Even if it had a 20% performance over competition, 220W is just ridiculous. What were the engineers thinking?

No updates on when Steamroller will be out? Considering Intel didn't advance squat with Haswell AMD finally have a chance to catch up.
