Activision & Blizzard presented their annual figures, and made the claim that Call of Duty Series will be returning to its toots.
I think you mean roots. Otherwise this game will become a smelly mess.

The space warfare theme did not increase their sales
You knew this before you even launched the game you f@cks.. Nobody wanted space warfare, they wanted something similar to the world wars as a timestamp. That's why Battlefield 1 stole all the fire from under your a$ses. This feels similar to what's happened to DX:MD. Squenix segmented the story into DLCs and implemented microtransactions in a single-player game (!) and were wondering why the game didn't meet projected sales figures. The fck? For real, sometimes I think these big corporations are run by a bunch of retards with no actual clue about what's going on around them.

I liked the more futuristic theme, that's what got me interested in COD again. MP Advanced Warfare was good, Black Ops 3 is my favourite one. Infinite Warfare isn't good enough and the mp design and characters are all wrong, especially when BO3 was so well done. However, it seems the masses don't like futuristic kind of shooters. I will be moving on to the next Quake game for my mp fix after I'm done with BO3. Cya COD, was fun while it lasted!

I guess to each their own. I have the last the COD but I haven't finished the single player and I don't touch the MP. I have Bf3, 4 and BF1. I personally loved Bf3 and 4 and I was eager to see where they were going. I have no interest in WWW1 and honestly I only have BF1 because my clan migrated to it. On that note I tend to hardly play it, just not my cup of tea. I love technology and advanced machines and weaponry. So not everyone wanted the same or the older stuff.

TBH, COD2 was my favorite. It was the best war shooter I had played since MOH:AA. COD4 was good but after that they just went overboard on all the killstreak perks. Ruins the game when you get these overpowered perks for getting so many kills without dying.

You don't say? The last playable COD (IMO) Modern Warfare 2 made me ****ing tired of the upgrades, streaks and gimmicks implemented to the bone. The last COD I really had fun was World at War and that one had too much upgrades then... I hate Battlefield 1, but you got to love how competition changes the game.

I used to always bite on the awesome commercials for the COD series thinking it would be better this time... Yeah? Dumb, I know. The commercials are great and if you notice they contain lots of famous people and no game footage. The last one I bought and tried to play for a little while was modern warfare. It was pretty bad compared to BF3. COD continues to make great TV ads, but I agree with a previous poster COD2 (competing with BF 1942 at the time) was the best and everything since has been downhill. Great marketing team though. Kobe Bryant in a commercial?

I think along with COD4, WaW was my best MP experience, BF3 was also mega but i doubt il go back to BF3 like i still do to COD4 and WaW.
