Hmm, actually it"s not that bad, except the required space. Here's last year's Modern Warfare installed.

Again? Didn't they learn anything from MW?

But you don't have everything installed right? I checked my MW install and it's 163GB with Warzone and MP installed.

In the image there's 50GB for MP only (probably excluding 4k textures as well, seeing how its spec jumps from 175GB to 250GB).

Fortnite got reduced in size recently, from 105GB to 29GB, resulting in faster loading times as well.

Yeah im 100% done with cod, i gave up after bo3, even that game was dumb sized, there games never even look graphically that good to even justify that bloated size

dont understand why they recommend highend CPU for 4K gaming--- From my understanding 4K do not use CPU as much.. When I playded the demo my CPU (9700K) was not pushed at all. I am gaming at 4K with a 3090 rtx

Is there something unique about this game (and previous) that explains why it's so huge? 30-40GB games being normal was hard enough to swallow and the occasional ~100GB ones...but 250!? I'm glad I don't have any interest in this title. That's kind of an absurd % of pretty much anyone's HDD space for a single game.

It's been a long time since I had fun with a COD game, at this point its nostalgia/meme territory. The only thing that justifies a bloated install is a huge open world. And even so, many games came out that aren't bloated at all. They need to learn how to compress their assets and give download options for language, texture packs and video (UHD, QHD or FHD). Example: "Do you have a FHD monitor? OK, you'll download 50Gb of game. Oh, you want UHD? Take 100Gb of download." Languages can be a size saver too, I don't need all the localizations if I'm going to play the game with English selected!

Basically what we want is this: Selectable languages Selectable Single/Multiplayer parts Selectable texture packs/video resolution Than pack this to reduce the download size. Hmm I wonder where I have seen all these options for many years already for almost all games? Might it be... the infamous.. one and only.. I cant say her name

8c/16t cpus will be recommended for most games this gen.

If you are probably playing at 60Hz/fps, and your cpu can probably do that at 50% load or less.

Extra SSD storage is gonna be hot seller for next gen consoles.

Did you see the prices of those extra storage for consoles? That is freaking expensive!

Yea, $200 bucks for 1tb. People will pay it though.

Same. COD doesn't seem to be a game for 13-year-olds surviving on Doritos+Mt Dew anymore but it's lost its appeal for me.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are games with bigger worlds and less bloat.

That is a good idea - the only game I've ever played that allowed you to install only the texture details you wanted/needed was the original Neverwinter Nights. Back then, it'd save you maybe 100MB. For a game like CoD, it would probably save you 100GB lol.
Languages can be a size saver too, I don't need all the localizations if I'm going to play the game with English selected!
Wouldn't you rather it be in Portuguese?

Usually games are translated to Portuguese from Brazil, and that sounds absolutely hilarious to us from Portugal. From games to apps Portuguese people just prefer English, unless they don't know English. Imagine that you're playing a game dubbed in an English Irish (or Scottish) accent: [youtube=jsUvcjk8J5c]

I can say the other way around is true as well. LOL!

I think the reason is they know most gamers can only have so many games on their SSD, and SSD's are used over HDD these days, so space is limited. They want a higher percentage of the gamer's time to be spent playing their game, so they make sure their game takes up a higher percentage of the user's HDD. This means the user is online more and spending money more often. It's really that simple. This is like loot boxes; once people have the guts to call a spade a spade, the house of cards comes crashing down quick.

No I'm playing on a 4K/144hz monitor.
