Yeah, got the email yesterday. Since I can move DOOM Eternal and RAGE 2 to Steam, good riddance to bad rubbish, I say. It wasn't the worst (that goes to Rockstar's launcher), but it was crap nonetheless.

Good, too many launchers these days, amongst other things. Less is more.

Wouldn't have expected Bethesda to be the first to realise that developing and maintaining your own store/launcher is disgustingly expensive, and barely - if at all - offsets the lost revenue from Steam's share of the sale. Not to mention the significantly reduced customer base....
Developers may pretend to complain about Steam's 20% cut like it's the end of the world, but for the visibility and market reach the game is then exposed to, it's a better outcome than going through your own limited store, which may or may not then suffer a security breach every 5 months (Looking at you for this last bit, Epic)

The Bethesda laucher it not bad nor good, it works is the best description, but I only have Doom Eternal and the game can run without the laucher, going to Steam is good option. The games that I'm playing are from Steam or DRM free, GOG, Doom Eternal was the only one that I had on Bethesda.
The worse is when you need two launchers do play a game, like my copy of Far Cry 3 that needs Steam and Uplay to run...

Maybe Microsoft doesn't want so many launchers and will focus only on their Windows Store and Steam.

I hope others follow Bethesda´s lead because having game launchers inside a game launcher is one of the worst ideas ever!

Be able to pick up a few Beth. games now then, as i only use Steam.
Hopefully the rest, Origin etc... will follow suit. 😛

I guess I will be finally able to change my review on steam for Doom Eternal into positive...

Hey,
Just thought I would post to give some unlisted info on the upcoming switch to steam.
Seem there is stuff you dont know about, which is why I write you.
So people who own multiple copies of the same games from bethesda will lose access to all but one account.
Steam/Bethesda will link the steam account to 1 and only 1 Bethesda account.
There will be no way to log into other of your user accounts to play.
Unless you happen to own multiple pc's and have multiple steam accounts.
Bethesda will not respond to phone calls, level 2 tickets or emails to any bethesda email or even Zenmax.
It means my friends and I will lose the ability to play using other accounts.
Just Thought you should know since nowhere does the info appear in your story or anywhere on Bethesda/Steam pages.
Thanks

Eh i only have 1 game from them which was elder scrolls 3 : morrowind and I got GOTY version of that on steam that included the elder scroll collection.
I do wonder want would happen if say verison on Bethesda is the lesser verison of the game and steam account has the GOTY and what not. does GOTY verison or what ever take president ? or would less verison overrided it? or would or seeing original and goty verison are diffrent? would one have both?

Sorry Bethesda had a launcher? Shows you how long it's been since I played one of their games!

Glad that I decided to buy my games on GoG , without DRM and launchers

Actually GoG now has a launcher, the old manual downloader is no more and doesn't work anymore
