I really don´t see this happening...
Specially when Intel has enough money to simply buy Nvidia.

Wow! this is dream come true! omg the possibilities are endless! hahahahaha! this is why i stick to nvidia in the a way i know the company will last long and only grow stronger unlike amd "puke" hehehe. we might see some powerful APU's down the road whooping amd over and over again that never gets old. sorry amd fanboy's looks like nvidia owns this one.

I really doubt this. It is too unlikely in my opinion.

Someone have think we was the 1st April when he have woke up this morning ?
( or maybe with 2012 end of the world, we will maybe never seen the next 1st April lol ))
If Intel want a new CEO, i doubt this will include the obligation to merge with a company as Nvidia..
Its absolutely not in the interest of Intel to do it. ( or for Nvidia consumers ).
( + I m not sure Nvidia can merge with anyone, because the protection deal / contract with MS who make they take the control of Nvidia immediately ( 51% of titles reserved) in case of any sold or merge of the company )

Either most of you are being sarcastic, or are genuinely this short-sighted.
If this does happen, it is so far from a good thing that it might as well be in another universe.
Basically, you'll end up with a duopoly in both CPU AND GPU segments, where you will get less and less value for what you pay for.
The whole idea is to keep competition alive to keep them trying to outdo each other. The only real competition Intel has right now are from ARM CPUs but they don't compete with Intel in the segment that I personally find most important to me: x86 CPUs.

This (like already said) - a dream come true!
Such development will be awesome! And the resulting company - best placed to produce ground-braking tech and devices.
I don't know how much truth is in this news, but I'll keep my fingers crossed till at least other major developments!

That would be nightmarish, I hope it never happens. What would nvidia even gain? They're doing fine in mobile, enterprise and GPGPU while intel is struggling.

it will not be a problem for AMD, in reality it will benefit to AMD, specially on GPU side. because if any merge of Intel + Nvidia happend, the only result will be the end of Nvidia .
- CUDA: intel will bring full compatibility with CPU and so rewrite it completely.. as Intel cant do anyting in x86 they will need bring the code to AMD too,
- PhysX? will be included in havoc and rewrited for include full optimisation for CPU, and so benefit to AMD as Intel will absolutely have no choice to share the library, code etc with them.
- GPGPU board ? will disapear for profit Phy- Xeon board ( maybe a mix between them ) and this will profit too on AMD side.. as software will need to be usable by AMD too.
If it become a monopoly, Intel need absolutely give the access to the library/code/instructions to AMD ( as it is for SSEE 4 and other x86 instructions ) for balance the market or Intel will face a situation where their acts push the market to use only Intel. ( and we know what is doing the USA FTC when this is happening ( They dissolve the company in multiple little pieces and sold them for bring competition back ) .. Conclusion, if Nvidia merge with intel, Nvidia disappear. Its why MS own a contract who permit them to take the control of nvidia at any time if a company try to buy Nvidia.
