Looks pretty nice. I'm still contemplating getting one of the 24" versions. Isn't a 1920x1080 res at 27" a little low or does it only really matter with text? I can't remember but I was reading about monitors (pretty sure on Guru) and people were saying that you really need 2560x1440 for 27". Could be wrong and is just an after thought really and a completely pointless post but well, I'm a little bored at work.
Monitor looks nice anyway. Wish they'd change the red to blue though.

It is a bit low. The effect will be like an enlarged 23,6", which has DPI close to the reference 96. I have 27" 2560x1440 @ work, and the DPI is a bit high (113% zoom required to make pages the same size as print), and it's much better for work. However unless you have a really powerful system, the resolutions is too high for comfortable gaming.
27" FullHD model may make sense if you watch it from big distance, but in other case I'd go with 23,6/24", or perhaps EIZO Foris.

I just got my Dell S2740S, it's 1080p and I was a bit worried about the resolution being too low but it's fine. 1440p+ would look better in Windows of course, but then you need a powerful rig to run games at that res.

27" is OK in everyday use, jaggies in games are quite visible especially in lower modes (my laptop card isn't too powerful...).

1080p looks ok and with 2xMSAA and SMAA from SweetFX it looks great and performs well. probably as good as 1440p with no AA and performs better.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out @ home. My home screen is 24" 1920x1200, which is smaller than 27", but it could use some smoothing.
Now if only I had more time for gaming... 😀

Back on topic. I have been using 32'' LED TV's for gaming in the last few years & won't game on anything smaller than 32''
Reason? Gaming on anything less than 32'' makes the screen look small!

Nice monitor but for that kind of pricing it seems just not worth it to me. I have a 27" LCD/LED backlight 1980x1080p HD monitor that performs very well and I paid only 300 for it.
for just $100 more you can purchase a 2560x1440 LED high performance monitor. If you are willing to spend $600 for this monitor then $100 more should not be a problem for a REAL high performance monitor in 2560x1440 at 27".

I find it way to pixelated with that size at 1080p on a LCD, so went for a Dell 29" 2560x1080 instead, it's not much more than a 23-24" in it's height.
