Way too many games have FOV locked horizontally that means you will not see more into sides, but game will cut off top & bottom.
Only games with vertical FOV locking are good for this, or games which support at least 120 degrees horizontal FOV.

I'm very curious about this monitor, I have 2 XL2411Z's which would look fantastic on either side of this beast!
after going 144hz I don't think I would be happy with any lesser refresh rates / response times... the colour quality and viewing angles are an acceptable trade-off for the absolute best response times - of course this is just my opinion, please don't hate me for it 🙂

Was sort of excited until I saw 2560x1080 and lack of Gsync/Freesync. Was looking for something to upgrade from my BL3200PT, but the crap pixel density of this offering is a letdown. My 21:9 29" Acer runs 2560x1080 and that is about the max size for that resolution. Bummer.

Where are the bloody 3D monitors, every monitor doesn't have 3D.

^ Agreed. 3D was a failure and expensive for nothing.
Even 3D movies are dead...

This monitor will be bettered by the acer Z35 when it arrives.
Same price with gsync, 144hz, AMVA3, 4ms, flicker free, 2560x1080.

^ I agree, I'm definitely over the 3d thing. It may come back at some point, but so long as you have to wear glasses I think 3d is every bit as annoying as it is immersive (at least at the beginning)
I know when I go see movies in 3d I'm almost like "Ugh.. okay I guess" - usually when the normal screenings are not available at the time I want to see them.
As for this monitor, it looks pretty good, BENQ has been stepping up their game for the past few years and their higher end displays appear to be really good (Have purchased several 27" 1440p $500+ monitors for my office) and they're very good.
For myself though, I'm still grabbing the x34. Its just too good to pass up 🙂

This may not be the ideal place to ask, but does anyone have experience with a 32" or bigger curved monitor as well as a "traditional" eyefinity setup (mine is 3 23" LCDs @5760x1080) and can compare the experience? I wouldn't change my setup for anything less then 4k and I am not impressed with a 30+" flat screen, so I was wondering how these curved screens feel immersion wise?

I was all for 34" ultra-wides until I saw one in a showroom. On paper they sound much bigger than they look. But if you're already familiar with a 27" 1440p, its basically just a wider version of that.. not as impressive as I would have thought in terms of size. I no longer see it as viable upgrade path to my 27" 1440p. Would rather go 32-40" 4k as far as future upgrades go.

Has anyone heard anything about a G-sync version of this monitor?
