For reference mate I have the dark rock pro 3 which is exactly the except smaller aluminium block and i had to take the heatsinks off my corsair vengeance as it was too high

Seriously impressive for an air cooler, if this had been on the market last Summer I would not have done water cooling.
It looks great too IMO. Probably the nicest looking air cooler for X399 next to the Wraith Ripper (and the performance on that thing was rather "meh")

I do like these big high performance air coolers like this one and the NH-D14/D15. Very quiet & good cooling performance for an impressive high loading on that monster 32 core CPU!

I put the Dark Rock Pro 4 on my 8700k at 4.7 oc on all cores and it does an amazing job, keeps temps very low for high end gaming, highest i ever saw was for ac origins and odyssey where it hit 75c but it doesnt stay at that temp only random spike as for any other game its mostly 40-60c

No the FlareX ones just fit ... so TridentZ would not be an option I'm afraid.

Not bad. Though, the Thermalright Macho is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter, much lighter and equals this one in terms of efficiency. When I had installed Macho on an Intel 2011, a couple of years ago, for a moment I thought something went wrong and that the fan's cable wasn't properly connected, that's how silent it is (I was in a hurry, so I put the assembled mobo into the tower - I had to open it to visually confirm that the fan was actually spinning). Not "be quiet", but "is quiet".

Um, indulge me, how silent does a product need to be? We measured 31 DBa .. basically, if you sit next to the fan with your ear pointed at is 10cm away, MAYBE THEN, you could hear it.

Don't have a decibel meter, so I cannot give you the exact number, but, according to reviews, it is less than 24 db(a) at a speed higher than 1000 rpm. Those 31 db(a) is a bit too loud. Most testers agree that anything above 30 isn't quiet enough to be considered real quiet.
This Macho's 140x150 mm fan is a GEM, but the cooler (body) itself is a masterpiece too, though not a fancy looking one. Please, make a review of it.

I cannot agree with that assessment at all. 30 DBa is the level of an enclosed sleeping room, outside a city with no noises whatsoever. To get you a reference point, on your smartphone grab Soundmeter (it's a pretty good app actually), go to the most silent place in your home where you cannot hear a thing. You'll be hard-pressed to get below 30 DBa. The values you mention are in a sound insulated box, not a real-world measurement where they place a DBa meter like 10 cm away from the fan.

So they say. For me, that is a "real quiet". But I do agree that 31 isn't annoying either:). By the way, Macho rev B can be obtained for a less than 50 € where I live (some local smugglers bring them to Serbia from abroad) and the latest edition is equipped with the brackets for all Ryzens and lga 2066.
