Seems they have seen the NES-mini and SNES-mini are working out very well for Nintendo ^^ All of a sudden my retro ATARI t-shirts are becoming cool again. 🤓:cyclone:

for Nintendo and Sega too the portable mini Genesis (that work too with original cartriges too 🙂 ) and mini Master system are huge sale. Atari T-shirt are always cool... i have still my red with white logo 🙂

Never owned any Atari systems have played a few games from them and what they have done here is 1). Attempt to appeal to nostalgia, look at the comments in this topic alone to see how well fond memories of by gone days of console gaming affects people 2). Show us a dummy box and then tell us absolutely not a damn thing about what it is meant to do. No matter the console could look like a freshly oiled Christian Hendricks but if the games it plays are like ET (lets remember THAT was one of Ataris) then no one is going to want to buy the thing.

If it's something they can bring out without the sort of investment that Sony and MS regularly do then I can definitely see nostaligia help something like this be a success. . Considering how Nvidia hasn't got their android console off the ground, and how they seem to be in a better position to pull it off, I don't see an Atari android console taking off.

they kind of did by renaming it to Switch and partnering with nitendo for exclusives ! :banana:

For me it looks more like a design exercise than a real product, right now the console market is a pretty though one, many consoles on it an many big players, of course Atari can't go play with Sony Nintendo or Microsoft, they could try some nintendo mini-classics move but we are still speaking of big money that probably Atari doesn't have

Atari... Is not even Atari anymore, they are Infogrames who renamed themselves to Atari when they acquired them. Seeing the crap they released lately i have no hopes for this.

We had many Ataris. We had a 2600 (console), then an 800XL (PC) and finally a slim 130XE (PC) before our 1st 8086. I'm intrigued with where this may go.
