I'd be cautious of getting an Intel SoC based NAS. has this been out long enough to know it's not randomly going to die on you?

No, that is the Atom C2000 series. This NAS has a Celeron N3150 proc.

Seeing that "device" on top of the receiver in such a cramped space made me wanna vomit.... No way to cut the natural flow of air off for the receiver....have to give it some cooling love.
