Cool

So around $1,500 and you can get a motherboard and CPU capable of supporting much more at this price point than that of what Intel can offer. Just for that price point alone you would not be able to buy a high end motherboard at all on the intel side of things. I hope to sell off a few things in order to make up the difference for the cost of the new ram and an additional M.2 something. I can still look forward to getting close to $3-400 just for my ASUS RIVE as I've got everything for it and it is in pristine condition. Along with water blocks.

That would not surprize me as the Add-on 10 Gbit Ethernet controller alone already costs like 129 USD as separate SKU. I'm rather sure ASUS will release multiple motherboards in several price categories.

What is that connection to the right of the DDR4 DIMM slots? The one that seems to have a 240GB SSD drive inserted into it on one of the pictures? Edit: NVM, DIMM.2, which in all honesty, i don't really see the point of, other then to make more room on the motherboard for M.2 drives. Question is though, since its connected via a DIMM slot, is there any bandwidth differences between a direct M.2 slot?

Well, it's an ROG Extreme board, they usually hit that price point.

This is indeed a beautiful, monstrous beast.....

I was thinking the same thing myself. I would imagine the DIMM slot is more than capable of the bandwidth, but would there be any compatibility issues?
It's not a real DIMM slot. it just looks like one. Its specifically for the M2 add-in card. The connectors in the "fake" DIMM slot are just two M2 slot pins, redirected to the connectors on the add-in board. It saves space on the mother board for other things, and doesn't hide them under graphics cards, etc...
