There is no bad products only bad prices and 4080 12gb was just that. Rename it to 4070ti reduce the price to 699$ and im interested.

I've been playing on a 4080 since launch and it would be a steal at $699. Just a great performer and a solid upgrade from my 3080. DLSS 3 works great too. I run mine on the same EVGA SFX 650W PSU I ran my old GPU with. Works great. Nice lazy solution, plug and play straight in to my current SFF rig.

^ Uhm.. Undying was talking about 4080 12GB version that was ''unlaunched'' aka renamed to 4070Ti..

upper mid range powerhouse, matching 3080ti/3090 in rasterization and beating 3090Ti in ray tracing, too bad it's going to be sold at 3080 12G price.

I dont think it will be released on the 5th, just announced. If they are launching the 4070ti, it would make sense to release the 4080ti and probably lastly the 4090ti. Thats my guess, is to introduce them and start with the launch of the 70ti, and maybe the 80ti and do a later lauch of the 90ti.

I think they will announce 4070ti and the originally planned 4070. Im curious what are the specs.

I have a feeling the 4070 Ti is gonna be the card to replace my 1070, i will go with MSI though.

Or the regular 4070.3070ti wasnt worth the premium

It seems to me it would make a whole lot more sense to release 4070 Ti (since it's been an already finished product for a while), 4070, and 4060 (Ti). Since AMD can't beat even the vanilla 4090, a possible 4090 Ti would only be a thing to sell to the wealthier customers, in the meantime, while they are waiting for 5090. If you asked me, the autumn of next year could be a likely release period.

True, i'll wait for the reviews anyways. My needs will be 1440p60 anyways, but also keeping the future in mind. I'm not someone who upgrades every other generation. So spending a little bit more may be worth it in the end.

so will these cards fit into 3-slot or are they again almost 4-slot monsters ?

The bigger the better, better noise due to lower RPM.

Well yes ... But also no! For example if you use a soundcard or a 10gbps lan pcix card 4 slot might be blocking access to the slots . If you do not care for the extra slots then yeah overkill cooling is great 😛 , a 200 -250 watt card can be cooler with dual slot or 3 slot just fine with low noise.

neither the 4080 or 4070 need 3 slot coolers, let alone 4.
